Reversing Floyd Rose Install

I had a floyd rose installed on my strat, at first i was all about it. But now, not so much. I honestly havent picked the guitar up in months and played it.

Is there a way to reverse a floyd rose trem back to my standard strat trem ? i figured this will take a lot of modification, but i could be wrong. is it possible? and where could i get it done at?

Instead of "reversing" it,I'd just block it so it doesn't full float,then it'll still be a locking system for tuning stability and if you break a string it won't go out of tune. All of my guitars have Floyd's that are blocked. By blocking what I mean is you mount a piece of wood or steel plate under the springs so it rests against the block of the Floyd,it then will only dump,not pull up. Pretty easy to do,just make sure the edge that rests against the trem. block is completely square. Eddie Van Halen uses flush mount Floyd's that only dump,that's actually how my Peavey Wolfgang Special is set up. Works great

If you want to go back to the standard trem, you have a lot of work on your hands, including a refinish job if you want it to look right. Probably not worth it.

If you want a fixed bridge, Rose makes a reloader system fixed bridge, but I don't know if it will retrofit and you also need special strings for it. I am not aware of any other retrofit fixed bridges.

You should just sell it and get what you want.

I'm gonna back the Block the trem. If you have a good German Floyd you got got steel for resonation.
On the other hand, just get it set to lay flush with the body of the guitar and wallow in all the things that Floyd did right.
That in my opinion would be cheaper than re-retrofitting a possible lesser quality bridge.

Yea,having a "real" Floyd made in Germany is a million times better than most licensed versions,although Ibanez makes a pretty sweet version for their guitars.

I'll also throw a vote in for blocking. That's your best bet, Kayla. You can keep it locked & in tune, and stable as a rock!

i'm not quite sure what you guys mean by blocking, if i lay the floyd rose flush to the body (on the front of the guitar) my action will be all crazy. right? cause i had to float the bridge to set the action the way i wanted it. so im assuming im to block something in the back cavity. confused.

If you take the cover off the back where the trem. springs are,you will place the block under the springs so it rest against the block on the Floyd. The block will screw into the body of the guitar so the Floyd rests against it. Wherever it's set at now will basically be where it'll rest.Remember,it'll only dump(go flat),no up pull. If your guitar was routed out for a full floater,you won't be able to flush mount it without tons of work.
