Johnstown Band Seeks Bass Player

Misguided Ambition is now holding try outs for a new bass player.

We have been together for 6 years, played out for 2 ½ years. We hope to have the new bass player worked in, and start playing out again around October. We hope to gig 2-3 times a month. We play a good mix of 80’s dance with 90 alternative rock. We play songs from Alice in Chains, Weezer, Local H, Poison, The Clash, Billy Idol, Everclear, and so on.

We are looking for the following:

• -A reliable person to show up to practice every week
  -Learn the set list on their own time, not at practice
  -Have decent bass equipment capable of playing out
  -Like the type of music we are playing, because we are not going to play classic rock, southern rock, oldies, metal, rap, country, and so on.
  -Be within about 30 minutes of Johnstown since that is where we practice and are going to play
  -Be in our general age range which is 25-45.

With that said, we have a good time and are down to earth group of guys, and are willing to work with a player if he is the right type of person. We have a nice temperature controlled practice space in Johnstown, pro pa system, and lights. I do have bass tabs, mp3s, and guitar pro files for the songs to speed things up. This is a good opportunity to step into a working band and play out in a few months.
