Its the revision level of the mic...its the latest, last and most desirable version of the N/D757 before they began production of the N/D767.

All versions of the N/D757 microphone have a bass rolloff switch.

It is discontinued and was replaced by the N/D767a which sells for over $100:

They are essentially the same microphone, with the round top, except mine also has the bass rolloff switch.

The RE-510 is a current mic and sells for around $200 new. Its an excellent live vocal mic too:
