LADO STUDIO 605 5 string

Post by MOONDOGGY »

Like my Lado 606 for sale, I bought this on a whim after lusting for another Lado for years. But I can't hang on to all my babies! They're up for adoption!

Specs:

- Ser # CDN-STUDIO-605-2132
- 34" scale 5-piece NT Flamed Maple & Purpleheart neck.
- Purpleheart and Flamed Maple stringers btn neck and body wings
- A beautiful rich purply-red Purpleheart top over Flamed Maple core w/ a gorgeously grained Mahogany/Sapele back. The pics don’t do it justice!
- Gold hardware w/ 17mm spacing at bridge
- 2 15/16" at 24th fret, 2" at the nut
- Gaboon Ebony board
- Bartolini humbuckers w/ Bart TCT 3-band preamp (and extra 'black box')
- Bathroom scale weight is 10-11lbs. (This thing is ALL heavy hardwoods!!)
- This one has a high gloss clear coat unlike the oil finish on the 6 string I have for sale.
- Great condition
This is a beautifully built and amazing sounding example of Joe’s work.

My price is $1050 $950 $875

That's pretty sweet, but when are you going to sell the purple Spector? :D

That Spector is my 'go to'. Oddly enough, that's the ONLY bass I have that I would never sell regardless of the offer. I've never kept a bass as long as that Spector. I've had it I like 8 or 9 years, which is a miracle for me!

If we have a GTG, I'll bring these basses for sale.

The Lado is quite nice, and I'm interested in checking it out. The body woods remind me of a Benavente that I almost bought.

BUMP for the final price drop- $950

Also, forgot to mention, these Lados are strung with new sets of D'Addarios (less than 1 hour on each).

I played this bass yesterday, and I just want to say that it's a totally top-notch piece. The setup and playability is immaculate, the pickups have that great Bart growl, and the construction is excellent. The Purpleheart looks killer in person.

BUMP....these Lados are still available. This one just came back from the local tech here in Kent at Woodsy's Music. He went over the frets, dressed them, and made them perfect. This cost me $85 but it was worth it. I'm still asking my price of $950, but that is definitely FIRM at this point!

Ok peoples.

I've had this bass up for sale long enough. No more messing around. This simply doesn't get ANY play time over my other basses, and I have some major expenses in the coming months.

$875. Quite frankly, I'm getting a little perturbed that I couldn't get $1000+ for this. It's equal to many basses that are twice as expensive. Don't be afraid of it just because 'Lado' isn't a company you see in Musicians Friend or Guitar Center! If you do a bit of research, you'll find that Lado has been around for quite a while and aside from not doing his own electronics, Joe Kovacic's creations are right on par with Alembics. And if it helps, THE Steve Harris was a Lado man!
