Ok, I accidently plugged my effects loop send into the pre-amp out instead of the send of the effects loop, and when I turned my amp on it squealed, then the one tube blew! I have the Peavey Ultra Plus 120 Watt head.
my question is this, on the back of the amp it says all tubes are 12AX7A, can I use any tube thats labeled 12AX7A or do I need one made by Peavey! There are 4 tubes all together, just the one blew! i want to buy a tube to replace this one! Hopefully thats all the damage done!
this is my 1st tube amp, so I am new to this!
Thanks for your input ahead of time!

Any tube labeled 12ax7 or 12ax7a or ECC83 will work, but you are about to hear how wonderful everybody's favorite name brand is.
Before you buy a new tube and find out that something else is wrong, I suggest you get a cheap used tube if you can and see if it blows. If it does, there is probably something else wrong.

lonewolf has a good point. if you find out it is simply a tube, i would consider if you buy a high grade tube( like a Tung Sol or a JJ, etc.) you move it to the input slot where it will make the most difference in your sound (the input tube is the closet tube to the input jack for your guitar) and move the rest over, unless it is the V1 (input tube) that went bad...
