Randall Kirk Hammett Sig. Head

I just read this article in the new Guitar World, I never would have thought this partnership would be announced.
When I think of Hammett, I think of Mesa and old Marshalls.

Well, from what I gather, the new amp will be like Randall's MTS series, where it will have plug in preamp modules.

There are 3 modules on the front of the amp, named KH-1, KH-2, and KH-3.
One of the modules was patterned or emulated after one of his vintage Fender combo's for a clean channel.

KH-2 is like his old Marshall Plexi head, and KH-3 is like a Mesa.

I can't find any other info that details more, other than this Guitar World article. Not even on Randall's site.

It looks like it would be really cool to mess around with, especially if it has the Master of Puppets tone in it, but I doubt it.

I think that he used a Mark III on the Master of Puppets album. I was never really into Randall, but I won't knock something 'till I hear it.

Will Kirk be using this on tour? He may, but I doubt it. It may be in his visible backline, but my bassey (instead of spidey) senses tell me that there's probably something else miced up, backstage.

Yeah either that or the Mesa Triaxis, He had a few different amps during that time, which is why it's so confusing to me to be able to find that sound.

I'm not a big Randall fan either, but there's no disputing the Century 200 that Dime used way back in the day. 'Cowboys' was a testament to the sound of a Randall.

I'm also like you Paul, I'm also not a big fan of modeling type amps, some people like them some don't. I'd rather just try to find the real thing and be done with it.
