THE POLITICAL ARENA!!! Political Gladiators Inside!!
In all seriousness, I do believe that the majority of congress is owned by some (not all Joe) super rich who covet power.
The new "super pack" money scares me. Any company can go to any congressman and TELL them what they want them to do. They will spend Millions or even Billions to take them down if they don't get what they want. Or they will spend Millions to put them in office ans keep them there is the politicain votes the way they want him to. And it is all legal.
The Supreme Court says money IS words and therefore spending money = freedom of speech. The problem is, that gives some people more "speech" to use for or against candidates. Unfair ? What do you think about it ?
Joe, I can't find that video you linked, with cattle representing people. Would you give that to me again ? It makes sense when you view it from the perspective that some super powerful rich own congress. Actually they own and dictate to MANY segments of government.

You are getting close Bill. I see it just a little different. Government power is almost unlimited (illegally and unconstitutionally) , and therefore its corruption is unlimited. Government is the source of power and corporations and the rich (George Soros) spend billions to try to get a taste of that power and influence.
If the power and scope of the federal government was actually cut back to what the Constitution intended, the unlimited corrupted power would be eliminated. Without that power, there would be little use for lobbyists and influence peddlers.
Most politicians (95%+) are corrupt because they wield such power, and are constantly tempted by people with money. Eliminate the unconstitutional power and you will get rid of the other problems.

I said a prayer for Obama today. Psalm 109:8 - Let his days be few; and let another take his office.

It could end up a lot more than that if they don't repeal his medicare prescription plan.undercoverjoe wrote:How much class does it take to put us into $10 Trillion of Debt?f.sciarrillo wrote:Who saw the Bush 9/11 interview last night? That man has so much class.

10 days till the 9/11 anniversary. How does it take only 10 years from the country being as united as it ever was after the tragedy, to political parties and political journalism and even us local musicians bickering about damn near everything under the sun.
Regardless if you're a Bush, Obama, Palin, Clinton, Bachman, Gore, Kerry, or whatever hater we are, WHO THE HELL CARES WHAT "POLITICAL PARTY" WE ARE?" We don't have to agree on everything, but it's high time this country, and this government, got back to what makes it so great, and what our fore fathers wanted this country to be....

If Obummer was able to steal 4 more years, he would put this country into over $25 Trillion of Debt.Merge wrote:Ask Obama, I'm sure he'll have a good answer.undercoverjoe wrote:How much class does it take to put us into $10 Trillion of Debt?f.sciarrillo wrote:Who saw the Bush 9/11 interview last night? What made this country great was the government staying the hell out of the way and letting ordinary individuals do extraordinary things.Don Hughes wrote:10 days till the 9/11 anniversary. I really don't think Jesus has much interest in politics. His is of another world. He never prayed for Ceasar to be replaced.f.sciarrillo wrote:I said a prayer for Obama today. Psalm 109:8 - Let his days be few; and let another take his office.

EDIT: I checked your link. Now you parrot bumper stickers and T shirts. God's Word on a bumper sticker as a negative add to take down a politician ? That is just SO wrong on so many levels.

"FREE OR EQUAL"
A PBS TV show worth watching / recording and discussing.
Swedish writer Johan Norberg examines the relevance of Milton Freidman's ideas (a totally free market) in 2011, in a world of globalization and financial crisis.
Atlantic Cable channel PBSW 16. Repeated today (9/6/11) at 3:00pm, 8:00pm. 9/7/11 1:00am.
For you political fundits (not a typo) try to watch / record it. I've only watched half of it so far, but it seems to favor free market ideas.

No, Joe and Jeff regularly disagree with me. They can back up what they say and they don't parrot rhetoric like you. You represent the typical voter who lives by the three word sound bites that the Republican Party loves to fool.f.sciarrillo wrote:As long as I don't agree with everything you say, you will continue to say that I can't think for myself.Hawk wrote:Frank, when are you going to be able to think for yourself. Here is another reason you are such a fool. You believe what they tell you without checking both sides if the story. Like I said, I listen to Rush whenever I can. Why do I have to do research for you ?
Okay, this is for Frank. Florida drug testing:
This is a report / story in the Tampa Tribune reprinted on a Liberal site:
http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2011/0 ... uch-money/
http://jonathanturley.org/2011/08/27/is ... itutional/
http://freakoutnation.com/2011/08/28/2- ... -millions/
http://rollingout.com/news-politics/new ... t-98-pass/
If this is a fair law, then to keep from being a hypocrite, EVERYONE who gets government assistance (welfare) should be forced to take a drug test. Any government school grants / help for school Frank ?
Every subsidised Oil executive should be drug tested and big oil subsidies would be revoked if they fail.
Typical Republicans. They want the size of government reduced while they want to increase spending. Drug tests = increasing bureaucracy lol Rob.
Frank, if you could actually think for yourself, you would show me alternative sources that disput what I say.
BTW the Florida Governor did sell his drug testing centers.

I think of this way, Bill. You say you listen to Rush. But the main reason you do is not to listen to both sides of the story. You do it find what he says and then look on your liberal sites to dispute. You don't believe anything he says, and believe whatever the liberal sites say.
I don't parrot anything, I haven't watched fox in months, in fact, I haven't watched any news station in a while. There is too much of the one track thinking. I don't like that. You heard me say numerous times that I look at all sources and then make my own mind up. Of course you just weren't listening.
That is where the difference is. I see what I see and I take what I take the way I take it. From the middle of the fence. There are things from both sides that agree with, you seen me do it numerous times. You can think I parrot all you want. That doesn't bother me. You will continue to think that because I'm not a full blown liberal like you; that is your right.
Also, I may be a fool. But at least I am a happy one who loves this country. Unlike the liberals who hate this country and everything it stands for.

Explain why you think I hate this country. I love it AND I love the people in it. That's why I side on the side of the people.f.sciarrillo wrote:

The "Liberals really hate this country" is typical Republican parroted rhetoric...And a lie...

When I say about hating the country, I am referring to them wanting higher taxes, more government, and socialized medicine. All things that will hurt the country more than it will help it.

We don't want more government. We want to go to Reagan era taxes so we don't run a deficit. And we want access to health care for everyone. Only rhetoric from the right would call that hate...
How would taxing the richest 2% hurt the USA ? They are hoarding a couple of Trillion dollars. They only have interest in taking down unions and lowering wages for all laborers. Like the Coke Brothers. (I forget how to spell their name).
How would having access to doctors for everyone hurt America ?

Of all the things I put up, you focus on this one.undercoverjoe wrote:So when a corrupt government is regulating, who keeps oversight on them? One can boycott a corporation, one cannot boycott the state.Hawk wrote:Joe, corruption in the private sector exists as well and governmental oversight and regulation is necessary.
Yeah, try boycotting oil speculators...
Try boycotting any insurance company...
Should I go on ?
The state, you have a vote...
