You know, this whole gun argument is stupid. Some people like guns, some people hate guns. If you don't like guns, don't buy them. A lot of people on here are saying about you don't NEED a gun, what's the purpose? Well, I certainly don't NEED a motorcycle, yet I went out and got one. Oh and I don't NEED a computer, but I got one. Whatever people want and have the money for, hey...be my guest and go get it. Spur the economy. Spend your money that YOU earn. People bitch about guns and suvs and all sorts of stupid shit because they don't like them(or out of jealousy), well too bad. You buy what you want, no one needs anything more than clothes, food, medications, a job, a car, and a good woman. Other than that, there are no needs. So, don't play the "need" card because we all spend our money on stupid shit from time to time.

Umm, the argument wasn't on whether we need guns, (meaning in the broad term, everything from Daisy pellet guns, to Browning M60 machine guns), the argument was on whether we need assult weapons.

Paul, just FYI:

I was referencing automatic weapons which were banned in the National Firearms Act of 1934. That was the 1st federal gun control law that banned certain weapons. Many of these, but not all, fit the assault weapon category.

The government later banned specific semi-automatic guns that they labeled "assault weapons" in the The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994.

BTW, nukes and most military arms were developed exclusively by and/or for the U.S. Military and they have sole rights to their ownership and licensing. Also, nuclear materials are deemed hazardous and are regulated by the AEC.

This is why you can't own them, but you won't find any laws prohibiting them.

HELL YEAH to that Bobby!!

i posted the original post on this thread for the intent of how the majority of people which are in my age category(18-25) think about government and politics and for the fact that i thought it would shed a little light on the right wing left wing bullshit.

I just thought by exposing that ridiculous supreme court logic, it would help to shed a LOT of light on the right wing left wing bullshit.

Geez Bobby, I thought you said you liked my posts!

Ah, it's just so easy to get sucked into a political discussion. Anyone who looks at the world around them develops a political opinion... as you grow, your situation dictates how you view your own situation, and because everyone's personal walk through life is different, no two political views are exactly the same... and there's the basis for a discussion. Everyone sees their own view as the "correct" one... same as religion, which is why I enjoy conversations about both politics and religion, but NEVER try to change someone's mind about either subject... it's futile. Your outlook is yours alone, and even a website forum as good as this one will not change a damn thing, if it does, you are shallow.
I tend to agree that the forum is getting too political. I think alot of that has to do with the summer doldrums in the local music scene, I know I get tired of talking shop sometimes. Another issue we deal with on this site, as opposed to sites that cover the USA or even the world, is that we mostly know one another, and are comfortable expressing our views with our peers. Buddies tend to B.S. with one another. I see that as a plus mostly, but it has it's pitfalls.
Anyway, I'll try to resist the temptation to latch on to the political discussions. I recently noticed that I have posted more than anyone else, including the moderators, a revelation that strikes me as kinda pathetic... I DO have a life! I DO!! Eh, WTF. It beats working for a living. ------------>JMS

NOTE: If anyone is tired of talking shop, take a break from rockpage for awhile. There are more political threads anymore than music related threads! :( I say lock em' all up and let's start fresh again! No offense to anyone.

How about a BAC detector like for cars, only it fits in a PC slot?

Then Ron can set up a digital roadblock!
