yes, Steve is right, you are all going off topic, lol.
I agree, but after two pages of bashing I had had enough.

I would point out that to question such things at the time those "theories" were prevalent would have you imprisoned or killed, not by scientists, but by the Church. The very people now advancing Creationism. Science has not advanced because of the Church's permission to allow it, the Dark Ages were Dark because religion required it Dark.
Science is not based on faith, FAITH is based on faith. Science is based on observable outcomes. Genomic research corroborates evolution. Animal husbandry has corroborated evolution since prehistory, if we can genetically manipiulate living things, so can nature, with the addition of time.
As for the idea that many scientific theories are disproven with time, this is true... but so is the FACT that so many ARE proven, while faith doesn't require any proof, scientific, or otherwise.

To call any discussion of science vs religion "bashing" is proof in itself that you feel your faith is being questioned, Obviously, it isn't. Your faith is your own personal thing, I have my own definitions of faith and don't feel a need to change them to suit someone else. As you are entitled to your faith, I am entitled to freewill and the observable world.

No. Questioning must be done with an open mind and a minimum of bias. Many of the statements made here were not constructive in any way, nor did they promote thoughtful discourse (though there were a few).

I'm not going to get into an argument about evolution. You missed the point of what I was saying. Scientists put a great deal of faith into their theories. Facts can seem to point to a theory, but nothing can be truly confirmed. The best you can hope for is a lot of scientists to agree that the information points to a certain theory being correct. There is no Truth. It's belief and faith that drive science.
