Did you know that the overall corporate tax rate in Pennsylvania is the 2nd highest corporate rate on planet Earth?* Who's number 1? You guessed it...Washington D.C. I'm surprised there are any corporations left in PA after Harrisburg adds their 9.99% rate. On to the question...

Not tax free, but a significantly lower rate than 35% on income from items produced in the USA and income from items exported outside the USA would give corporations a big incentive to keep facilities here or even expand.

Not all offshore factories are all about labor cost either. On low-margin items, shipping can be too costly to export directly from the US. Its not profitable to produce a quantity of $2 items and spend $2 each shipping them overseas for export. Same with big items like cars. Overseas facilities for those kinds of products will probably be the norm from now on.

However, if you don't like US Corporations, we can always tax them out of business and find out how much we like Chinese corporations.

BTW, buy natural gas ETFs during the next week or so.

Be patient with this. If you are looking at the UNG ETF, it is trading at a premium between 15-20% right now. Even when gas bottoms out, UNG could get hit with an additional 15% slide from shorts trying to make a faux-arbitrage play.

Keep checking that premium/discount number. It may never get down to zero, but over 10% is probably too high.

"Spread the risk".

I was thinking, that is how the insurance industry already works. Healthy people's premiums are covering the bills of the sick. (Unless the insurance company decides NOT to cover them.)

Let's get everyone involved. And let's stop this non-coverage bull.

Everyone use's their services indirectly. They put out fires so they don't spread to every house on the block. They also deal with wreckages on the roads. Police get drunk drivers off the road so they don't smash into your wife and kid. They also act as deterrants. My point is that you do indeed use their services every day.

I make donations to the fire dept and police dept each year so I guess that is like my co-pay.

I think your point is that the FD will extinguish your burning house whether or not you made contributions.
A hospital will treat you regardless if you have insurance or not.
The difference is that the hospital will slap you with a $700,000 bill and the FD won't.

I was never a big fan of gov't health care but there are so many people that work 39 hour a week part time jobs that are inelligible for insurance.

The problem is letting the federal government run it. They don't run your local fire depts. Fire depts are much cheaper to run than a hospital. 1 mri machine costs as much as an entire firetruck.

The question comes down to a right vs priviledge.
Are police depts, fire depts, and hospitals the rights of American citizens?
Answer - No
Commentary - Citizens believe that healthcare is a right because they are so used to having lots of priviledges like police depts and fire depts.

I don't have the answer but its a fun discussion.
