This (to me) seems to be the main difference between Republicans and Democrats.

Republicans: Every man for himself. If I can do it why can't you ?

Democrats: We want to help everyone.

The "battle line" is fought over, in the middle, pushed back and forth.
pretty much, its funny that you would think that generalization would make people realize republicans are evil and democrats shit rainbows.
You are so much against me that your view of what you read is tainted emotionally.

Stand up for yourself - is what you guys write. I personally think that's a good thing and I agree with it.

We want to take care of everyone. Damn, while you think that I was trying to make Democrats sound like rainbows ' you couldn't be more wrong (again). It was a perfect opening for a comparison to socialism.

My point is that there is a line in between the two. Which I also wrote.

You dislike me so much - you got it the opposite of what you should have.

BTW if you think I'm a liberal - I am against gun control, all abortion and other subjects to political incorrect to mention. I'd like all illegals to be sent back to where they came from.

I don't really have anything against you, I met you once, you seem like a nice guy. You just have the complete opposite political views as me. In my mind you are extremely liberal in all the wrong areas, and extremely conservative in all the wrong areas.

I don't even have a problem with your political views. But you should try reading one of your posts and replace "Hawk" with someone else, and replace "obamma" with "McCain" I bet the blatant promotion would probably annoy you.

Most of the time you end up sounding like one of those traveling salesmen that sell snake oil out of the back of a wagon.

Your 1st paragraph. So you are for gun control, abortion, out of control spending by the Republicans. The Enron loop hole. A war we should never have been in. These are all things you are for ?

Your 2nd paragraph. You might be right.

See, even there when you are supposedly telling me my views, you have to sell it a little bit. If I was for "out of control spending by republicans" would I call it "out of control spending"?

As I said in the other thread, I'm for making up my own mind. On any issue.

I spent it on a PA system. :D
wow! me too! that is some coincidence. i'm having mine custom built from an out of of state company. i't going to totally kick ass. i can't wait! i've renovated an entire room in my house to store it between gigs. mine has crown amps and jbl's and bunch of knobs on it and some buttons with lights and a 20 some channel mixer. nobody in my band will know how to work it, but it will def. be cool.

what kind did you get?

Actually I've spoken very little about Obama (other than vote for him in the beginning of the thread). Mostly I've talked about what's wrong with Bush and McCain. Obama just happens to be the man running against McCain. So his name gets mentioned. Especially when it comes to Phil Graham - economic adviser to McCain - who will have his loop hole removed if Obama is elected.

I never say he is a savior or anything like that. He is only the better alternative between the two political views. Nothing more.

I was for John Edwards, not Obama or Clinton. Yep, unfortunately the same John Edwards that just got caught leaving his mistress' room recently.

Good try. You said you views were opposite of mine. I USED QUESTION MARKS. I was asking questions, not making statements. Again you see things wrong. Then get defensive. I asked - not told.

fine, replace "telling me my views" with "asking me about my views"

I have never understood the point of arguing semantics on a message board.

I'm talking about the way you have to put a little spin on almost everything you say, while (purposefully) trying to avoid spelling out my viewpoints.

If Hawk likes any idea of Obama's, it will be lead to the downfall of America. I will use Hawk as my political weather vane, if Hawk is for it, it is a socialist policy.
You mean closing the"Enron loop hole" is a bad thing. You'd like to see more havoc created by this measure ?

BTW Joe, you didn't answer my question(s) yet.

Did you write - refuse, return to sender - on your stimulus check ? Or don't you live what you preach ? I mean, if you are against hand outs , you are a hypocrite if you kept / spent it. The same with all of you anti- socialists. Stand up and tell me what you did.

lonewolf already announced what he did with his.
Me ? I spent it on a PA system. :D
You are right, how I spend my money is absolutely none of your business.

Do you think the stim checks were the government's money?

Did you know not all Americans received a stim check?

The government said I am too successful to receive some of my own money back. The more successful you are in life, the more the government thinks you should be punished.

Your love of ever larger government is personal to me. It steals my money to make liberal socialists like you feel that you helped your fellow man.

Classic liberal, making the world better with other people's money.

BTW Enron crimes were committed during the Clinton administration, and were convicted under the Bush admin. Hard facts for you Hawk.

Actually, a classic liberal is for smaller government, privatization, and choosing one's own destiny. What you mean is a classic socialist. Political scientists probably cringe at how much popular culture and media have distorted the meanings of liberal, socialist, and conservative as much as I hate it when someone says that a scientific phenomenon has been "proven."

But there I go cheesing off MeYatch by talking semantics. ;)

ABSOUTLY NOT MY BUSINESS. But it was a hand out.
--------------

Do you think the stim checks were the government's money?

It's OUR money. Collectively OURS. To be used as needed for the betterment of the protection of the people.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Did you know not all Americans received a stim check?
YES.
------------------------------------------------------------

The government said I am too successful to receive some of my own money back. The more successful you are in life, the more the government thinks you should be punished.
The more you make - the more you pay. That's fair.
-----------------------------------------------------------

Your love of ever larger government is personal to me. It steals my money to make liberal socialists like you feel that you helped your fellow man.
Steals ? Then you must hate the likes of George Washington who was the first to tax. I like a one for all, all for one mentality.
----------------------------------------------

Classic liberal, making the world better with other people's money.
Everyone in the United States realizes we need some social programs.
You and I have been down this road before. No sense in covering old data.
---------------------------------------------------------

BTW Enron crimes were committed during the Clinton administration, and were convicted under the Bush admin. Hard facts for you Hawk.
YES and the regulations that let it occur have never been put back in place. Allowing increased gas prices AND the mortgage debacle. Both of which are taking more of YOUR money.

YES, yes yes. Finally someone looked it up. It was put in between Bush 1 and Clinton. Clinton could have taken steps to close it. I have no clue why he didn't.

Would you like to see it closed ? A question not one of you has answered yet.

Hawk, if you got a stimulus check that was part of my money, I want it back. I do not feel that you need it.

Here is a site that is totally non partisan. It is an excellent site to check to see if what the candidates claim are true.

It points out the misleading adds by both Obama and McCain.

It checks the facts behind the candidates words.

Bill that site leans so pro democratic party it's sick. It is exactly like watching MSNBC. It takes the word of Rezko, a convicted felon as a "fact".

Just like this site "Accuracy in Media" is conservative leaning.

Sorry, Joe. Looked at this site for a 1/2 hour (and I can read a LOT in a 1/2 hour), and couldn't find any bias. Simply reporting that McCain plays dirty isn't bias, especially if he did. This ain't talk radio, not everything gets filtered through the GOP talking points. I saw a lot of things that cast Obama in a bad light as well.
I especially liked the article about an Obama ad taking McCain's comments on Yucca Mountain Nuke Dump out of context. When McCain was asked if he'd feel safe about nuke waste being trucked through Arizona on the way to Nevada, he said, "No, I wouldn't." End of commercial. But the actual answer went on to say he supported a repository of nuke waste and spent fuel so it's not lying around all over the U.S., so the benefits outweigh the risk.
Kinda reminds me of '04, when all you heard was Kerry saying, "... I voted for the war, before I voted against it." Gone was the next few sentences, where he stated that we were all sold a lie, and the war was a mistake. It still is, and will remain our biggest foreign-policy mistake ever, until somebody spills coffee on the The Doomsday Machine. :)
It also brings to mind the Neos' recent use of Michelle Obama's comment, "I'm finally proud of my country..." The con-talkers have repeatedly refused to run the ten seconds of audio prior to that soundbite, and the 30 seconds after. Why not? Context, dude. If the entire audio of the comment was run, we'd all know that she was talking about the political process in light of strides African-Americans have made in recent politics, and the possibility that there'd be a black president. I got it, even with the fancy editing. But, man, it was just SOOO easy to cut and slice, and question her patriotism. And the thick-browed homunculi who hang onto Sean "Goebbels" Hannity's stream of bile... hell, man, they don't even have to think about it, it's already been pre-digested: "that N-word HATES America."

Still, anyway you slice it, the Nixon Republicans will be GONE in January '09, and it's a beautiful day in PA. ----->JMS
