I'll tell him that,I hope when you get in your mid 40's to early 50's you don't get the rug pulled out from underneath you and they won't hire you cause of your age and too over experienced. And you got bills and the Company gives you a big shit sandwich to eat.

Cause by your attitude I'd say you barely 35 if even that. To say something like that is just disrespectful

I'm a Bush supporter, but I don't agree with everything he's done. I was for going into Iraq and ridding with world of Hussain. I do think that we need to let the the Iraqis control their own country. We can't stay there forever, but we can't just duck and run. I think there is too much hypocrisy in politics. I heard Hilary Clinton say "how could this President let North Korea develop nuclear weapons". She forgets that her husband gave them the reactors they are using. I personally think we should close the borders and let the rest of the world fend for themselves.

Keith Olbermann is infinitely more interesting than Spinnity and the rest of the Rove Nation. Oh, yeah, Fox News has been steadily declining in ratings since the 2004 election, and The Daily Show regularly destroys every Fox News show in the ratings.
Now...
In early November, America spoke very firmly. It said, "No more bullcrap. Wrong war, wrong time, wrong place. Stop." If you got any other message out of the election, you are fooling yourself. The "reason" for the Iraq War has changed several times, and now we're being told it's to give Iraqi's "liberty." Do they appear to want it? Did they, like America did, gather up squirrel guns and pitchforks to rise up against their oppressor? Do they report all suspicious IED activity? Do they rain hell down on the bad guys? Who are the bad guys?
Bring 'em home and let the idots kill each other.

Here are some quotes and attributed facts from the ol' songsmith:

"Mission Accomplished."--President Bush, April 2003

Final death toll due to terrorist attacks in NYC, Washington DC, and the air over West-central PA: (not including the 19 hijackers) 2,973. (Wikipedia)
Number of soldiers killed in Iraq to date: 3004 as of 1/4/06 (Free Market News)
Number of soldiers injured: over 22,000 (UPI)
Number of Iraqi civilians killed in 2006 alone: 12,000 (BBC) This is disputable, many casualties go unreported, and body counts are limited to those reported to English-speaking media. The toll may be far, far higher.
Number of US troops heading to Kuwait in January, per Robert Gates: 3,300, enough to cover the amount of dead soldiers who came home. (BBC)
US cost of Iraq War per month: $4.5 billion, not including equipment and weapons, whose costs are secret. (Christian Science Monitor)
US cost of maintaining a force in Iraq until 2010: 2 TRILLION dollars (accounts for long term healthcare for soldiers, inflation, and destabilization in the Mid East.) (Christian Science Monitor, www.csmonitor.com/2006/0110/dailyUpdate.html ) This doesn't account for reconstruction.

I'd also love to know where the info listed above on WMD's came from, and why this isn't being mentioned every 30 seconds on every conservative radio show in America. That fact alone makes it dubious at best.-------->JMS

There isn't a newspaper or news show in America that reports the news with any honesty.

When people hear the true facts, but they are Not the facts you want to hear, then you say the news is slanted and the media is no good.

The media is reporting what's happening.........you just don't want to hear it.

RobTheDrummer wrote:Also, what happened to real reporting? Why is it that all these liberal media people have to put thier opinions on there as well? There is a difference between having a show on opinion and reporting. A reporter is supposed to report the facts. No more, no less. These people are skewing the stories their own way with fluff and putting in their own twists. They also take clips from speeches and skew them in a way they see fit, so we don't get the whole story. We end up gettiing a bunch of fluff and opinionated bullshit.
So, you have watched Fox News ...

Could very well be since right now instead of going after the terrorist organizations while they are building up he is just playing RISK (yes the board game) in real life with a country that had nothing to do with the attacks that have been made.

If he would take care of the terrorists instead of manipulating the system against another courty for his own profit we could lay the ground work for destroying those networks before they could do anything again. Actually to be fair it could make it less likely. No matter who is in power if a group wants to hurt you they will find a way. Wether it be a college student with a shot gun or some one who takes the time to get a visa learns to fly and becomes a pilot legally until one fateful day.

You Know, I totally agree that if you enlist in the military you should be prepared to go to war. But I also believe if you did go to said war and found it to be bullshit, you have every right to bitch and complain. More so than the millions of retards who did not go but somehow know what's best for everybody. It's kinda like the guy that sit's at the bar all day spending his SSI or cash assistance check. That motherfucker always has everybody elses life figured out. I'd enlist too but I can't either Rob, I was born with a fucking brain, and that prevents me from doing dumbass things like believing anything our government (either party) says.
Another thing I think they should Quit advertising the military like it's 4 years in Fucking paradise, and when you get out employers are killing each other to hire your poor ass. I mean not everyone's gonna get a job as a helicopter mechanic.

It's propoganda to the extreme ...

Here's a fun game to play. When you see one of those "it-rocks-to-be-in-the-Army" ads, take note to what you're watching at the time. Just like the douche ads that run in the daytime during the soaps, these "be-all-you-can-be" ads are placed in targeted time slots.

If you live in the inner city, these fü©king things run all the time.

Do you fit the demographic? In this day and age, I hope not.

BTW, I'm LMAO @ DirtySanchez's post, as well. Funny stuff.

Call it retarded if you like, I'm just stating my opinion. I can't even stand to read my local newspaper because the people that write for it are totally uninformed. I am more than ok with hearing the facts, but there's so much spin from both sides that it can be difficult to determine what the facts are. I'm not the least bit paranoid, all I want is the truth. The Republicans say one thing, the Democrats say another. They both have an agenda and will attempt to twist the facts to fit their agenda. I hope the new Senate does a good job and I also hope that both parties work together to make this country better.

What? Are you takin the Kerry approach? Saying that people in the Army are stupid? As a matter of fact, there are lots of highly intelligent people serving the country.

Naner`

Naner, naner, naner! While you all are arguing meaninglessly amongst yourselves the Bush's of our world are laughing!

I agree that at this point we should get everyone who still stands behind this president to "Sacrifice" for him. Enlist and go visit Iraq, hell of a tan I hear.

But that won't happen!

Bush will keep the War going.

For the record I never agreed with electing Bush. I have never supported him and probably never will. The troops on the other hand I support because they are just good people trying to do what they believe is right. They are misguided because they believe in our government. Our Government has no integrity and no Moral conscious.

Oh well, flip flop on that.

WTF Rob, would you rather have the draft? Conscription is the only alternative to recruitment. Those ads are just smart recruitment.

How do you pronounce this? Long A or short a? I guess there is always that possibility of a short o using a New England accent.

Those ads are just smart recruitment?

All they have to do is say, " Hey all you broke ass lower middle class bastards, who couldn't carry good enough grades to get into school without a trust fund, come risk your Goddamn life for Uncle Sam and we'll pay for schooling plus you'll get a regular income. Oh by the way if you lose a limb it's O.K. because we'll prescribe you Oxycontin and you'll be too fucked up to work so we'll give you a whopping $600.00 a month."
People already know this shit going in to the military. I'd say 1% really believes he's gonna get out and be a helicopter mechanic, and he'll die as soon as he gets off the flight in Baghdad.

Sanchez for President and Tornandfrayed for Vice President!

As far as military recruitment goes - When you join the military straight out of high school, you are unskilled and inexperienced. When a place of employment has to advertise on the television to fill spots for unskilled laborers, what does that say about the quality of job that you will be doing? It's not like there's a shortage of unskilled people in the workforce. Wal-Mart's not exactly a dream career, and they still don't have to spend millions of dollars on ad campaigns. Dig what I'm saying? Even at 24, I still have people trying to recruit me. Last summer, I was asked by a recruiter what I would be doing after college. I responded by telling him grad school. He told me I could go to grad school and be a full-time soldier too. They would pay for it. Keep in mind, I have no clue when I'd have time to work on my dissertation while dodging bullets in Iraq; I went on and explained about graduate assistanceships and tuition waivers.

None of that's a slam on our serving men and women. There are all types in the military. Though as has been pointed out already in this thread, it's no mystery that they target underclass for recruitment. I've never had a friend come back from serving in the military and tell me that it was a positive experience. I suppose that it's one of those things that you get out of it what you put it in. Personally, it's an institution that I want nothing to do with.

Either way, God Bless those serving across the globe.
