Bush made the tax cuts, congress refuses to take them back to where they were. Congress refuses to close tax loopholes. This helps increase the deficit. The rich refuse to pay better wages and create more jobs. This causes less taxable income which help increase the deficit and hurts the economy for the middle and lower class. . Obama has spent a lot of money to create jobs. This has had some positive effect on the economy, but not nearly as much as the rich could do if they wanted to. And Obama's spending has greatly increased the deficit.

Now what would happen is the rich paid better wages and helped to create jobs ? Less government spending on welfare, greater taxable income and Hmm, a lowering of the deficit. Now tell me how Obama can make that happen. Actually it's not up to him to make that happen.
