Here is Bob Segar - Turn the Page. I like this one.

This was never officially released as a single, but was one of his biggest hits. It was on his "Back in '72" album, as well as "Live Bullet" in 1976.

Some music trivia about the song Mandy.

"Mandy", originally titled "Brandy", is a song jointly written and composed by Scott English and Richard Kerr. "Brandy" had been a hit in 1971 for Scott English in the UK and in 1972 for Bunny Walters in New Zealand. But the song was made famous by Barry Manilow in 1974 when he changed the title to "Mandy" to avoid confusion with a different song by Looking Glass - "Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)."

Hey, Songsmith, was this your alter ego back in the 70s?

This "Jon Stevens" was the lead singer for INXS from 2000–2004, after the death of Michael Hutchence. He wrote the official song for the Sydney 2000 Olympics Torch Relay, entitled "Carry the Flame".

Christie - Yellow River

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJ5-FoiBuVc

Written by band leader Jeff Christie, the song was offered to The Tremeloes, who recorded it with the intention of releasing it as a single. However, after considering it too pop-orientated, they decided not to release it. Producer Mike Smith kept their music and took their vocals off the recording and added those of Jeff Christie. Released on 23 April 1970, it became an international hit.

I remember that song on the radio all the time. 1970 was when FM radio was starting to get a hold, and AM played pop songs like this constantly.
