The fondest memory that I have of seeing SRV play was at the King Street Palace in Charleston, SC. The moment that sticks out to me was the end of the show. Double Trouble just absolutely SLAMMED through "Couldn't Stand The Weather" with Stevie's brother Jimmie coming out to jam on the song with them, and at the very end of the song, SRV hit a note and just held it...and held it...then placed the head of #1 on his amp and let it feed back...and on and on...just one note, for about 5 minutes. The crowd was losing their minds, and Jimmie walked up to the mic and said "Y'all know what? I can't top that with any damn solo!"

The band hit the big crash at the end and the show was over. But nobody left for at least 30 minutes. It was like a collective cooling down period for everyone. Unreal.
