this is just not true. people you no may be lying about what they eat. many do. or maybe they just don't pay attention. who can say. but i CAN say with confadence that veggie diet will prevent it from in first place.. veggies diet helps everyone! marathon runners do not necesarily eat right just because they run far. diet is more important thaen exercise anyway. not saying you shouldn't exercise you should just that its a distant second to diet, that's MOST important. of course i talk about a VEGGIE diet :D

ps see the link i put there few posts back for more info :D

You must be GOD. To make such an absolute proclamtion about all of mankind....wow I am impressed about your delusional self importance.

So ALL cardiovalcular disease would end by everyone going veggie?

Do you know that people of Indian descent (Asia India) are one of the most vegetarian groups of people on the earth today, and yet they have a very high icedence of cardiovascular disease? Ask Dr. Vijay Janakariman, a highly respected cardiologist and of Indian descent about that fact if you think I am making this up.

Oh, all 1 billion of them must lie. Lets see, 1 billion people are wrong or one troll is wrong.

I do agree eating veggies is a very healthy thing to do. It is the height of ignoance to say it is the ultimate cure or CV disease.

I'm typing this while eating a 3/4 pound medium rare Porterhouse slathered with A1 sauce. Beef...it's what's for dinner.

Besides, if we're not supposed to eat meat, why did God make cows out of meat?

RAOTFLMAO...Whoo! It IS good to laugh...now where was I? Oh yeah.

I can't believe this, wholly friggin' crap! Would you look at this:

"All heart problems go away with vegetables, fruits, no meat, but a little fish is okay. No one wants to admit it, but it's true." (I made it less painful to read. :))

So, all a person with a Bi-Cuspid Aortic Valve has to do is follow the above Diet and a third leaflet will simply grow! IT'S A MIRACLE!

I have to call my Vegetarian friend right away and tell her she should really start consuming Fish. (She currently says she won't eat anything "with a face".) I bet the Diet mentioned above will "miraculously" cure her High Blood Pressure!

Seriously now...I have to eat only minimal Vegetables on occasion and you do NOT want to know why, trust me on that, :) but I try my best!
I drink Orange Juice and take a High Potentcy Vitamin/Mineral Supplement to try to help make up the difference. I'll have an occasional Apple, some Honeydew Melon, or even a Banana once in a while and "cake and cookies and doughnuts, oh my"! (...and YUM!)
I like my Steak Medium Well and with A-1. :D

You can lead a horse to the water....

In our studies we found that even severe heart disease often begins to reverse when people followed the lifestyle and diet recommendations in our program. In fact, 99% of the patients were able to stop or reverse the progression of heart disease by making the diet and lifestyle changes I recommend.

"In our studies" --- where are you conducting these placebo controlled, double-blind, crossover studies?? To get a primary prevention proof of your statements, you need all of the above mentioned. Most likely you would have to do them on a large number of patients, over a long period of time. If YOU are doing these kinds of studies, many of us would love to know and read your data. What peer evaluated journal are you publishing these studies?? Just let us read an abstract or two.

This is very very bad for your heart health. Try substituting tofu in place of the steak. Delicous and good for you! :D

Ron has since cleaned up the above thread, but I seem to remember some extremely irreverent posts made on that thread, joking about the death of Steve Courson, and people "finding the humor in any situation."

IMO, death is a SERIOUS health problem, actually, it's the most serious one you can have. Nothing funny about it.

I agree with YR's above statement, there should be no bullsh*t linked to a thread discussing the health problems of a fellow human being. It's classless.

"What's good for the goose" ... "practice what you preach" ... insert any other applicable clichés here.

Right on BaddazeRob? Well said in simple terms. This post was originally about the well wishes to a local music icon and to a speedy recovery to John. Not about vegans vs. meat eaters. Certain people vie for attention on these threads for the simple reason to piss us off. I for one aided in the fire to help fuel this and for that I appoligize to Jim and Ron. They should not have to monitor such behavior from us. As someone on another thread posted " If you ignore them they will leave". I understand that many of us know on another and bust chops all of the time which is all in good fun and I am pretty confident that Ron is cool with that because when he is not working his ass off overseas he is joining in with the fun. I also know Ron well enough to know that he has not one viscious bone in his body and would never approve of some of the posts of negativity towards musicians. This is a musicians site not adolesent chat room for sheltered beings. So again appoligies to Jim and Ron.

but the topic is heart disease, or at least part of it is. Posting good info on prevention is way way more helpful than a thread 40+ posts of only "best wishes.get well soon". though those well-wisher posts are ok by me to.i wish him a speedy recovry!

One of the folks in this conversation is a dietician, and another is a pharmaceutical rep, and neither is NS. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Also, some fat is necessary in the human diet, especially for brain function... a fact which, I think, speaks volumes about trolls.
I do appreciate the point that NS is carrying on a real conversation at this point, and wholly encourage that.
It is also a biological fact that nearly all primates are omnivorous (eat all kinds of food), a fact that makes us successful at survival, because omnivores can adapt and survive in many environments, due simply to having more opportunities to eat. As mentioned in other threads, we're currently at the top of the food chain... historically, that position changes rather frequently, so enjoy it now. My average meal always includes meat, though as a plowboy, I like my veggies, too (one look at my rather ample frame reveals my ejoyment of all food), and while I like sweets, I'd rather have steak for dinner, and for dessert... more steak.
I see nothing wrong with veganism, although I think it's extremely difficult to get a balanced diet that way. I can tell ya, it ain't for Johnny. My idea of vegetarian is to saute some green peppers and onions in my venison.
