I like the idea of a 3 way mid/high cabinet, keep the drivers well within their operating range can really help to prevent bad things at high volumes. I'm sure that they could be a bear at times when crossover tuning is concerned. Are you tri-amping the tops or bi-amping them and using the built-in passive for the highs?

I've worked with the CSS stuff many, many times, and it was fun to run. You could really punish people with those old scoops. I also agree about the condensers, they can convey that sense of space and clarity that is missing in so many mixes.

I had to laugh at your "oats" analogy. It is always better if you can be on the cutting edge knowledge wise, but on the trailing edge when you buy.
