::Chuckles:: If we ever had to stay over night somewhere for a show - we'd never be able to book it in the first place.

I think if you look around you can find horror stories about just about any brand of equipment. The only ones i've ever heard about carvin involved things not being hooked up right, or equipment not matching up correctly. As with anything you buy, there is always the chance that you got a lemmon.
As far as peavey, I have yet to come across anything that had the name peavey on it that I didn't think was a flaming pile of shit (in some cases litterally flaming). I mean guitar amps/cabs, bass amps/cabs, and worst of all PA equipment. We had a peavey mixer that at about 2 months old half the channels burnt out of it, peavey power amps that would for no reason shut down, top cabnets that would cut out and/or distort. Last summer we went through 8 peavey black widow subs. After the first couple we had our amps checked out to make sure they weren't causing the problem, it was just that the speakers them selves couldn't handle the abuse. The voice coils would short out and next thing you know they were burning. Although it did kinda add a cool effect to our shows when 2 shows in a row we had flames shooting out of our subs, the rest just smoked and quit working. It's pretty bad when brand new subs would make 3 to 4 shows at best before they'd puke.

I see what you're saying, but if that is the deal from the start of the band and everyone knows that from the start, there shouldn't be any fights. If there are fights, something needs to be reevaluated. I understand the whole splitting everything with the band being a fictitious person, but everybody in every band that I've ever been involved with has had a day job and that is how everything was paid for that was outside the band. I don't have a single problem coughing up cash for gas to get to a gig. This is what I do with my life. I do it for fun. I spend lots of money on it, sure. I don't see a problem with that.FatVin wrote:I respect Orangekicks communist approach but it sometimes leads to fights. As Hurricane Bobby pointed out some of us have bills to pay.

i like the idea of adding a ficticious member to the band and use their cut of the money for band expenses. it might not work out smoothly in the begining, but over time it will add it.
Gonzo. Gonzo. Where's the chicken he's been after? Gonzo. Gonzo. Clucking all the time. Gonzo. Gonzo. All I hear or see is Gonzo. Gonzo. Gonzo. Camilla only cries!
