HORROR MOVIES!
Though it is not as scary as most "The Omen" is one of my favorites. "The Shining" had me freaked out for weeks when I first saw it. "Heeeerrrreeess Johnny!" I thought Jack was gonna come through my door every nite. A great "B" horror flick is "Bad Taste". One of Peter Jacksons first films. He even plays a screwed up alien not unlike the bug guy from MIB. It's about aliens that have a fast food chain and the main fare is human flesh.
Talk about sick shit! Brains for breakfast and vomit to wash it down. Buckets of blood and guts everywhere. A far cry from the LOTR trilogy.

It was filmed in Monroeville mall, but many remodelings ago. I saw the movie last night, & it was definitely the Monroeville Mall of my childhood. The closed mall is Eastland... not too far away.bfoust wrote:and Dawn of the Dead was filmed in the now closed "Monroeville Mall".. correct me if i'm wrong...
My pick for an awesome horror flick: 28 Days Later. It's like a rabies epidemic & a zombie film rolled into one.

Exorcist, Dawn of the Dead, and Return of the Living Dead are some personal faves. The original Halloween, and Alien. The remake of The Thing doesn't get much credit, but it's really effective too.
Anyone into the old black-and-white classics? Not because they're scary in the modern sense, but just for the style. There's a sweet version of Nosferatu with Type O Negative as the soundtrack. Bride of Frankenstein is really good, and King Kong. You can usually find Carnival of Souls really cheap in the discount bins; it's worth a few bucks.
As a kid, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory really traumatized me. Does that count?

"The Bridges of Madison County"
Seriously though,
"The Exorcist", "Salem's Lot", "The Tingler", "Gargoyles", and "Trog" all scared the bejesus out of me as a kid.
If someone would do a Frankenstein movie (I think I've seen all of them) that was even close to doing the book justice, it would probably be my all time favorite. Mary Shelley was one twisted young lady.

... and then the wheel fell off.
