Thank You! I feel the same way about Wylde. He is a decent songwriter, but his guitar skills are not as good as most people make them out to be.

Plus one. Chug-chug-SQUEAL! Chugga-chug-SQUEAL! I don't think he sucks, but after the first 2 albums with him, I was bored with it.

Saw that coming  , but point taken. I'm not a fan of oldtime fiddle tunes, or the majority of bluegrass instrumentals. I need lyrics to make it complete. Bluegrass is very structured, by necessity, and most musicians can feel the changes coming after the first few bars. That's how people who've never met can play the songs at a jam without much tutelage.

But this thread is about metal, which there's plenty of bad to go with the good. Didn't Zakk play for a tribute band in New Jersey before Ozzy? If it's the guy I'm thinking of, he used his real name. The band did a set of Bon Jovi, and a set of David Lee Roth/Van Halen, and I remember that the singer sucked, but Zakk was good. They used to advertise in the East Coast Rocker, circa 1983 or '84.

Pretty decent list there, but Motley Crue's Album Motley Crue wasn't a bad album, it just wasn't motley crue. I actually like the music on that album, mick really shows off what he can do when given the opportunity to.

Zakk Wylde= Jeffrey Weilandt

Yeah, he is the one you are talking about songsmith.
I looked on wikipedia to confirm the spelling of his last name, but they dont have his real name on there. Im not sure I spelled his last name right. His name is Jeffrey though.

Glad I'm not the only one that liked the self-titled record. I thought it was great to hear the Crue get heavy. It's like they got a set of musical balls when Corabi replaced Neil, kind of like Anthrax did when John Bush was in the band. I love Crue, but I thought they sounded better without Vince Neil than with him.

The only dog on that record is "Smoke The Sky", which is their ode to pot (nothin wrong with that), and is a direct musical ripoff of "Kickstart My Heart". They mailed it in on that one, but the rest of the album is awesome. Just such a huge bass and drum sound, and Mick was playing guitar out of his head.
Dood...
