There is now rumors that there may be the swine flu in Altoona Hospital. I wonder if the local school districts will over-react and cancel school for a few days, if it happens to turn out to be true?

Luxembourg - There is no known link between eating pork and catching swine flu, European Union health ministers were set to insist Thursday at an emergency meeting on the disease. According to a draft declaration from the meeting seen by the German Press Agency dpa, the ministers were set to stress that there is "currently no scientific evidence of any link between this disease and the consumption of pork meat or products."
That is because the virus is "related to human-to-human transmission," the draft statement says.
Many EU member states have sizeable pig-farming communities, and are anxious to protect them from a public panic which could have a devastating impact on sales.
Since the outbreak of swine flu in Mexico first caused alarm in Europe at the weekend, EU officials have been at pains to reassure their citizens that there is no known risk involved in eating pork.
Among others, officials have pointed out that the bloc does not import any pork products, stressed that cooking meat properly kills any virus, and insisted that the disease should be called "novel flu," to avoid "misunderstandings."

Swine Flu, or any strain of flu, is not a big joke if you're old and infirm Or very young. I'd venture most here are young, healthy. But who knows?? We're not talking about a 'runny nose' here.
It looks like a whole lot of hype to me...media lying thru their teeth as usual.
Where the media reports hundreds of deaths, in reality, there has only been 10 (9 in Mexico, 1 in US) attributed to Influenza A (formerly known as H1N1, formerly known and mislabeled as the swine flu). So far, the lethality rate in the U.S. is less than 1%. That number will drop as more people become infected.
The media is just doing this whole thing to get to a point of blaming Bush for something again and then praising Obama. Maybe they will get him to say how "Enchanted" he was to cure this whole epidemic.

this is probably the only thing Bush is blameless for.
