11 gauge?
Two things about 11 gauge:
You can't have fingernails and you need hands like a lumberjack.
Stringing a guitar? As you hold the guitar, you start with the thickest string and, one at a time, work your way down to the thinnest.
You will definitely need to intonate after changing to 11's. If you also have a tremolo, you will probably have to tighten it up as well.
...Oh, the freedom of the day that yielded to no rule or time...
oh believe me, i know how to string a guitar. this strat is a lil different though - the strings wind into the tuner like bass strings. someone told me they can be a real bitch to change. i might give it a try.
and the 11 guage are a lil bigger but i play bass too so im sure i will be ok.

If you put them on yourself be aware of the nut. Most Strat nuts are not cut for strings of that size.
Actually you really should get the guitar set up for 11's.
Intonation, the truss rod, bridge height ect can all be effected by changing to a higher string gauge.
ya i actually noticed that .. been tuning it like a crazy person. but im gettin an original floyd rose and locking nut installed soon so no more worries im hoping. i really didnt think i would like the 11's - but i really like them a lot, a lil bit more challenging for me, but hey its all good.
