What are your music to remember moments in 2008 ?
• Taking the stage at Castle Pub Nov. 22 – my first show back after my crash. Didn't miss one engagement with my bad daZe bandmates, no one was hurt in the crash and I only suffered minor injuries. I should've been very, very dead.
• JP Rock-A-Thon. 'nuff said. Seeing and talking with Lzzy and AreJay again was groovy. All bands kicked effing ass that day in honor of the guy who does work for all of us.
• Everyone coming together to figure something out when the news of JP's dismissal at the Q was announced. There were all kinds of plans thrown around in those first few days and all that did was prove how much Jim means to us.
• Bringing Bags into the bad daZe mix. I can't describe what his presence both behind the kit and as a very close friend of mine have done for this project and me personally. There's no end in sight to the good things to come and I love it.

I'm thankful for...
Becoming one of "the litter." Very awesome.
- Meeting supportive musicians and fans alike.
- Not being banned from Rockpage....yet.
- Not choking to death on a ham sandwich.
- ...Or being found dead on the crapper with someone else's perscriptions. I'd hate to embarrass my family like that. Especially when it's one of THEIR perscriptions.
- that my massive boobage has not taken out anyone's eyes or smothered people while they slept. Okay, fine! A girl can DREAM can't she??!!?!
- Sheep, with no inhibitions. Very tough to find.

If I can't get respect, I'll take fear... or Skittles.

The Chance Dull benefit show was one of my favorite moments ever. It was just a great night all around, thank you, Sanchez, for letting us be a part of it.
The best thing that music did for me this past year was introduced me to so so so many people. I met some awesome people this year-the guys in Fed Up, the gals in the Regrettes, Bad Daze guys, Marauders...etc...tons and tons of kick ass super people.
Playing a few songs at a rockpage jam with Sanchez and Drum and Destroy, that was fun as hell.
Getting familiar with the talent in this area...tons of it. I got to be exposed to different bands at the Rockpage jams and I was impressed with everyone! There needs to be another rockpage jam sometime soon!

-Releasing our 3rd full length record "Evil Will Always Triumph Because Good Is Dumb"
-Going on tour in Europe again
-Playing a killer show with Spain's Cop On Fire
-Being in Biel Switzerland and hanging out amongst the biggest pot plants I have ever laid my eyes on (It's not a music thing but it kinda is because we played a show about 50 feet from the garden)
08 was alright but 09 will be even bigger

There've been several... And I'm hoping '09 will give me a plethora of others!
-Benefit For Chance
As Brian said, that was an AWESOME show! There were so many people in that little place, and for such a good cause! ...And I just remembered that I still owe a friend of mine a shot for giving me those tickets that won that drill set. Yes Brian, it's in good hands. I put it to use every now and then, and it's a VERY kick-ass set!
-The Side Effects
I was in TSE for one session, but that single session was FUN! I REALLY need to play hard again and get into another band. It was great playing alongside Justin, Brian and Joe. Speaking of which,... Where's Joe been, Brian? I wanna jam some time! Heh
-Too Loud Fest
The biggest show I've seen all year! I went out with Myke Long and watched so many bands tear shit up, including UEA7XMatt's band. Huge stage show, and I'm surprised that more weren't there early!
-Choking Faith's last show
Aldo's is always my fave bar to visit, and that was, BY FAR, no exception as to why! That show was fun, and so was being on stage a few times as if I was drunk, when I was sober as a judge!
-3 Score And Ten's first show
Myke Long was reintroduced to the stage this year. He's a veritable animal on stage, and his energy always builds a crowd (set for metal, of course). Seeing Jason (The Embalmed) up playing bass in that band is damn great
-My band Eris, and the jam sessions we had
We're not going anywhere right now. Our vocalist will hopefully find a way back up here, and we'll fill a position (and hopefully, it's not the one I occupy
), maybe 2. Plus the other position will be settled, as our bassist/drummer is having a hard time deciding
. We haven't jammed in awhile, which really sucks. But maybe soon... I guess I'd better get back into playing shape
'08 was a great year in many aspects. The music was just one, really. I won't get into the rest, because this's a music thread and I ramble enough as it is. But, I have high hopes for '09. Music shall be in it, and through music, I shall continue to thrive!

Since I really didn't do anything in 2008, my list will be short:
1. The Jim Price Benefit at 30 Something. Like any other cause that Rockpagers put their mind to, it was awesome. It was also nice to sit down with Lzzy Hale and chat for about 30 minutes.
2. Helping out other drummers. I got to get together with some of my fellow drummers a couple times and introduce them to Saluda cymbals. Proud to say that 3 local drummers got Saluda endorsements after having an open mind and trying the product. Makes me feel good to help out other musicians.
And that's about it for me.

Memorable moments for me would have to be ...
the first time i saw felix and the hurricanes at the white lady tavern and felix showing me how to play a few songs. freakin awesome. gotta love those guys.
the many nights hanging out with the red arrow and tearing down equipment just having one hell of a time. goin out for breakfast at like 3 a.m. and getting hell when i got home at 4 a.m.....haha and i will never forget the night the drunk guy broke my aunts tamberine thinger and it flew across the room and damn near hit me.
having the guts to start my own band when everyone told me i couldn't and still don't think we will make it - we'll prove em wrong.
and the most memorable would have to be buying my first fender strat, i worked so hard for it and it was so awesome to finally have it in my hands.
2008 has been one hell of a ride for me. so many memories, and many more to come.

Some of my highlights:
First and fore most would be the inception of the Hawks. I have had an awesome experience so far and hopefully more to come. You couldn't ask for better band mates.
Playing the Blues and people diggin' it.
Teaming up with the Cane's at 30 Something and seeing Mike play some Southern Rock.
Finally seeing the Front. ( Kudos to Shaun Hochrel for the production )
Hanging out at Harolds Christmas party and jamming with such great musicians. ( Thanks to Trace for making my day and singing with me. You just blow me away with your voice.)
And jamming at Rob's house and hanging with Slacker Theory. You guys are the stuff.

A year that started off kind'a rocky as far as this end of things. Was wondering
how long this might keep going, therefore me doing it. Turned out to be one of,
if not THE, best, especially as the end neared, could've hoped for.
New Year's Eve 2008, got to bring in the new year having a longtime friend
fill in on bass. A great bassist and friend who I thought I may never get to do
a show with again.
Few that come to mind of things that happened during 2008 shows:
Had a show shut down by the PLCB (Seems an odd one for the positive... but
in the end, a lot of it is about the stories you have to retell.
Playing to look out and see the "stripper" showing her pappy how she does
things at work. SWEET!
Playing a few shows where there's a coal furnace a few feet from you... and
looking forward to getting back to those places.
Playing and looking up towards the balcony at LaRue's and seeing quite
clearly that the pretty hot woman in the red skirt was goin' commando. NICE!
Got to share a stage with the venerable Mr. Hatt for a set.
SherK. and SoundGuy Bill racing to see who could chug 2 Lunchboxes each
faster (After she'd had a couple/few earlier in the night. A long ride home "Oh
god...stop...stop the car!"...but I think she won).
Kelce's passin'-out-while-standing-to-not-even-TRYING-to-stop-himself face
plant. DANG!
Hearing Jason utter the phrase "Someday, I really need to learn that when
someone buys you a tray of shots...you don't HAVE to do them all".
Seeing the chief of police slumped in a booth, making sure he was okay and
him slurring out "You guys are good people".
Seeing above dancing with a dog, ya, in the bar.
Rob's look of self-loathing any time he hits wrong note...and wanting to go
"DO IT AGAIN, DO IT AGAIN", just to see that look.
Having beer spilt on my effects board many, many time...okay...that one could
do without.
Playing "Suck My Kiss" at the Relay for Life and KNOWING what all those
older people THOUGHT was being said.
Any time I got hear Double Negative plow through "Drunken Sailor".
Got to FINALLY meet in person, and get to catch the über cool guys of Bad Daze.
Sure there are a ton of others just missing.
But, mainly:
Met Rob in Jan. (?) and he joined up. A huge first step with "If this guy stays on, this
is goin' to work out and be great".
Got Jason to fill in in March...and stay on...another step and "Gettin' better!".
Dusty got onboard in November, and now all is so cool. Really, and with all due
respect to everyone, especially those on RP, with whom I've gotten to work over
the many years, am lucky enough to be in the best band with the best band-mates
ever. Great players who are also great friends.
REALLY, it's like 2008 was a year to build up for the year(s?!) to come. Band-wise,
family/personally-wise, about the happiest I've ever been. Have so much to look
forward to, could just poop myself silly.
