Hell yes ... those guys were crazy (and somewhat nappy headed if I recall correctly).DirtySanchez wrote:You cannot even associate yourself with punk rock and PA Unless you like the Dead Milkmen. (Philly)

"Watching Scotty Die" is one of my all-time favorite songs ... no lie.

Also, let's not forget Mark Middleton's stay in Raging Slab. Dynamite Monster Boogie Concert is one of my favorite albums of all-time.
I was also once told that Vito Bratta (White Lion) was from Hazleton. Is that true?
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.
Here are some more to add to the list
• Kevin Salem from Johnstown has written and produced a wide variety of records for many national artists as well as his own records as a solo artist and his former band, Dumptruck, and he even wrote music for the TV show, Nova
• Raging Slab featured Greg Strzempka from around the Davidsville area along with Mark Middleton from Johnstown had international record sales. The band is still based out of Potter County in PA and are still recording and touring. They are still very popular in Europe.
• Kindred Spirit from Johnstown had 2 national hit singles with “Under My Thumb’ and “Peaceful Man” in the late 60’s.
• The Intrigues from Johnstown with Bob Bretz on guitar and Ron Piljay on bass had a couple national hit instrumental records in the early 60’s with one being the double-sided hit “Checkmate” & “The Belly Dancer”
• Jim Bonfanti was born in Windber and grew up in the Dunlo and Beaverdale area and played drums with The Choir and had the national hit single “It’s Cold Outside” and he went on to play drums with The Raspberries and had many more hits.
• Joe Pass (real name Joseph Anthony Passalaqua) – internationally known jazz guitarist, was raised in Johnstown.
There have also been many PA bands, including some local ones, that had hit records on a regional level like The Instigations, Beaus of Beethoven, Lickety Split, and Satrycon, just to name a few I know about.
