I don't think it's strange at all. He's doing the leg work and putting up ca$h. He and his people should reap the benefits of that work. I didn't get to see DF at the gig because I had child care issues to tend to, but everyone I spoke to about them had nothing but positive things to say.Plastered Bastards wrote:It's all well and good what is going on, but look at the reality that your band isn't going to be on the bill but his sure as hell will be.
So that is a little strange.

I dont think any of the 'Naysayers' know how much work actually going into these kind of shows. Its Hard Fucking Work. Im 16 years old and i have been doing it for 2 years and this shit gets rough. Booking Mushroomhead is not cheap.
Dragon Fire should have been on the bill. When you put up that kinda cash...fuck thats the least that could have happend. UGTV has always helped unsigned music out. I consider them one of the best fucking groups ive ever ecountered. Keep up the damn good work guys (and gals).

This is Lori from the Underground TV. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m partner/owner of The Underground and as Chris said in his previous post, this is our business and our life.Plastered Bastards wrote:It's all well and good what is going on, but look at the reality that your band isn't going to be on the bill but his sure as hell will be.

Ok so let’s talk about “the reality”. We literally booked this show 3 weeks out. We needed a band on short notice that not only made sense musically, but would play for free because after paying for The Mushroomhead Tour (yes it’s a tour, you buy the headliner and their supporting acts) we were completely tapped out. Dragon Fire not only played an AWESOME show, they helped out with all aspects of the concert. Everything from bringing out their fans and selling tickets, to spending the entire day running errands and moving equipment for other bands. I can’t thank Ronnie, Eric, and Steve enough for all their help. You guys are the best! Thanks also to Rachel and Milyssa, our street team and my best friends. We love you!
And yeah, I expected the negativity from the “poor me” crowd on Rockpage because you’re very predictable, but hey if spreading doom and gloom on message boards brings meaning to your lives, by all means continue.
Chris and I greatly appreciate the kind words and those of you who support The Underground and get what we’re trying to do. We’ll continue to do our best to bring original, live music to Altoona.
