Anybody have an "adult" kid who's figured life out

i have a 16 year old son.i just have to learn how to let him go and experience life.i am a young parent and remember cleary how it is to be 16.now i am on the other side of the fence.you can give your kids all the advice in the world but they are still gong to figure it out for themselves.

What I as a teenager failed to realize, and I see this over and over now, is that my dad had the benefit of having been 16, while I had never been 40. There are two types of valuable knowledge to me; knowledge gained by study and deduction, and the more instinctual knowledge one gets only by being on the planet for a certain amount of time.
I explain it to young charges like this: Are you better at riding a bike now than when you were six years old? Sure you are. You've been riding for a decade.

This is something one of my older coworkers said about having a son over a daughter... " I'm happy I had a boy instead of a girl. That way I only have to worry about 1 dick and not all of them."
