All this talk about ego and nothing about id. Id is almost always left out of the picture.
All you have to do is advertise for somebody with a suitable id to put a leash on their big ego.

Actually, technically the ego would be what puts a leash on the id. In a band situation, an overactive id would be a problem since the member would always be looking for instant gratification. On the other hand, you don't want the member to be too superego-driven, because then they'd be afraid to do all of those wild things that the id likes to do.lonewolf wrote:All this talk about ego and nothing about id. If we really want to apply psycho-dynamic theory to the hiring of band members, I think that we would want to shy away from people whom Horney would say are on a neurotic search for glory.
