I like the solo in the Crossroads movie where he made Steve Vai drop his axe... Who really did the picking on that classical/rock piece? Was it really Danialson :wink:

Just found this on Amaazon:
This soundtrack is an excellent display of Ry Cooders considerable talents. But to own the final guitar showdown between Cooder and Steve Vai, purchase Vai's "The Elusive Light and Sound Volume 1" to hear one of the greatest examples of blues and rock guitar.

The guitar duel alternates between Ry and Vai (hey, it's poetry) until the kid whips out the classical licks at the end. That bit was provided by Vai. Pretty neat to hear him rip it up with a clean tone!
