I was wondering why I saw a couple of news crews there today; as I was driving past.

I wonder how long it takes before you see Martins with cases on their shelves ..

Also, a Brinkman 5000 blows weber out of the water !! :)

When I got back to the area, I had sheetz withdrawal too. Moving back north, 3 am after a 10 hour trip from South Carolina towing everything I own in a u-haul.

Loaded Chili Dawgs, the old school sheetz way. 2 dogs, everything but relish and saurkraut. Boy was Michelle pissed that night. mmmmmmmmmmm.

I love sheetz. Much better than Miami Subs in Florida or Subway, although I do agree the quality has gone down.

Still, there's a few things that PA has better than anywhere else...

Stagers Store (Portage)!
Hoss's!
Sheetz
Dunny's Pizza
The Meadows

Period.

And that's exactly what I've done but, the reality is that 99% of the time I don't eat bread so I they can charge whatever they want, I won't be eating it. It was just that one day when I felt like it that I shit myself at the MTO touchscreen monitor when I saw surplus cheese being priced at 59 cents for two half slices.

I like Sheetz & admit that I missed that institution when I moved out of state years ago. It sorta represents the area. Sheetz is good to get gas, JACKS, a newspaper, Trader's Guide, & a few other things. But I rarely get something to eat there anymore simply because it's too damn expensive. I understand that you're paying for the convenience. I prefer to buy something in advance at a supermarket for much cheaper to eat in the middle of the night. Put it in the microwave & you're good to go. Even though Sheetz food is pretty good, it got me feeling sick on many a drunken night & following day. Once in a great while though, like on the way to a gig, Sheetz turns out to be the best option. That being said, only on a absolutely necessary basis will I get Sheetz food. And on the subject of selling six-packs - it's about time. Now that's some real convenience! But here again, I won't be buying that beer either because it's much cheaper to get it in advance at the beer distributor. Not everybody can or wants to do that. But I would know that it's there, if needed.
I've drank enough beer to float a battleship! Go ahead and Rock & Roll all night if you can but don't party every day!

Nope it started at the Meadows Intersection by local businessman Bill Campbell as a Western Sizzler until the company pissed Bill off then he pulled down the sign and it became Hoss's! Very ballsy on his part at the time.

Yes im sure we are are all a little pissed about the sheetz "tax" but at my place of employment, they are our biggest customer, they lease 25 trucks and tankers, about 150,000 each. I dont eat there hardly at all, but will get my fuel and milk. If it wasnt for them, i wouldnt have a job.
