It is pretty sad that people like Britney Spears and and her ilk just because they are photogenic (for the record Britney doesn't do anything for me). But [bassist_25 controversial mode ON] I think that you should look professional when on stage. I've seen bands who look as though when they got dressed, they just grabbed whatever dirty shirt was on their bedroom floor, didn't bother to wash their hair, and didn't run a razor across their face. Seriously, nobody expects you to dress up in a three piece suit to play a gig, but don't look like a scruff up on stage. It doesn't convey professionalism and shows that you really don't care about your product. And if you don't care about your product, then why the hell should I? It's pretty sad I have to even mention this, but then again, some I've seen peope live tune through the front of house in the middle of a set and they're idea of a good guitar tone is a Crate GX 2x12 with a smilie-face EQ, so go figure. BTW, I find that the best mid-gig snack that helps give you a boost of energy without making you fat is Snickers. Snickers, they satisfy.

If I were a big boy, I would probably play slower music and use fewer lights at the show.
