I'm not quite on this Miami bandwagon. Sure, they had a nice finish of six wins last year (mostly against loser teams or teams that didn't care), but I think the Steelers finish of eight wins was a bit more impressive (mostly against the best teams in the league). If Ben were playing, Pitt 31 Mia 10. Since Batch is playing, Pit 20 Mia 13.

All this talk and no mention of the Steeler's defense? Come on now, thier defense is still just as strong as they've been. Defense wins games.

Here is what I saw from the Steelers in the pre-season:

An offense that was ready to go in limited reps, which I can assume was the reason for the limited reps.

A defense that looked out of sync and had problems against the pass. It could be a lot to do with them not showing everything and not really knowing who the starter was beside Polamalu.

And a bunch of subs that sucked more than anything I have ever seen in pro ball.

I originally said that I thought Miami was going to win but, hell, I'm a true fan and I'm not going to pick against the Steelers, ever, even though I think they have some holes.

The Stillers 33-31. I still have a problem with how the D looked against the pass.
If youth knew; if age could.

Miami's D may be a challenge for Batch. The overall outcome, however, will be determined by how well Daunte Culpepper can click with his new offense. He'll make waves like a dolphin, but will end up canned with the tuna.

Stillers - 17
Fish, Mammal... whatever - 10

I think in typical first-game fashion, it will be sloppy and sluggish. Batch and the Steelers offense will get it together enough to put some points on the board, and the Steelers defense will do the rest...
