I saw Frampton before a few years ago at Star Lake; he put on a decent show. I think given that folks who bought Foreigner tickets would at least want something similar and from the same era, Frampton is a reasonable replacement.

PETER FRAMPTON CONFIRMED TO REPLACE FOREIGNER

July 27, 2006 (CLEARFIELD, PA) On July 24, 2006, Fair Officials received word from
Mick Jones and members of Foreigner that the band would be unable to perform at the Clearfield County Fair on Tuesday, August 1, due to an unexpected medical issue. At that time, Billy Idol was to replace Foreigner; however, that too has fallen through. Joyce Martin of the Joyce Martin Group has been working day and night along with Fair Officials to contract entertainment for Tuesday night of the fair. Locating an available entertainer at such short notice was very difficult. After many numerous declined offers, Fair Officials have announced that Peter Frampton will be live in concert on August 1, 2006.

Tickets purchased for Foreigner are valid and will be honored for Peter Frampton. After lengthy discussion and debate, spawned by public outcry, Fair Officials have concluded that should a Foreigner ticket holder not wish to attend the Peter Frampton concert, the only fair and right thing to do is offer a refund for purchased Foreigner tickets. People wishing to request a refund is to follow this process:

1. Requests for refunds must be submitted no later than August 15, 2006.
2. Requests must be in writing.
3. Requests must be mailed to: Attn: Refund Request, PO Box 101, Clearfield, PA 16830.
4. Foreigner Tickets must accompany the request, in whole.
5. Requests must include Name and Valid Mailing Address.
6. Refunds will be processed and paid by check no later than September 30, 2006.

Peter Frampton was one of the biggest arena rock stars of the '70s, making his name largely on the double-LP concert set Frampton Comes Alive. Frampton’s greatest hits include Baby, I Love Your Way; Show Me the Way; Doobie Wah; Do You Feel Like We Do. More information can be found at the official website www.frampton.com.

I went to Peter Frampton's show at the Fair. It was a good show. Frampton and his band did most of the major hits - "Signed Sealed Delivered," "Show Me the Way," "Baby I Love Your Way," and of course, a near 20-minute version of "Do You Feel Like We Do," where he spotlighted the members of his band and did his trademark guitar talkbox display. He also performed two selections from his upcoming all-instrumental album, Fingerprints, including his rendition of Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun," with the final chorus done with talkbox. For the encore, Peter launched into a scorching version of Humble Pie's
"I Don't Need No Doctor," before closing with his version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." There was a decent-sized crowd there; I'm sure some folks with Foreigner tickets opted for the refund over this show, but it still had good attendance. Peter was entertaining and talked it up with the crowd between songs. In all, a good show; I'm glad I went.

I was there too. I agree with everything you say.

Only to add that he brought some very good musicians with him.

And his rendition of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" made the concert for me.

Before Frampton was ruined by overplay of his gayer songs on radio, he was a founding guitarist of Humble Pie, and they rocked. I saw Framton with Humble Pie and it was a GREAT concert. If I remember, The J. Giles Band opened for them in Binghampton, NY in 1972 or 3.
