Steelers will win this weekend. I hope New England beats the Colts. I don't think Pittburgh will have much of a chance of getting past manning. He is on fire this season ..

manning is incredible, but, he's beatable. hopefullly, if the colts win, and we get to face them, we get some real terrible weather here. the colts are built for the dome, and tend to struggle when playing outside in the snow. also, you can beat them by holding onto the ball, something we do real well. the steeler's win the time of possession game just about every week. you keep manning off the field, he can't hurt you.

I'm hearing the odds-makers are taking the Steelers, plus 9. I like the Black & Gold, but I can't see that spread... they've won ugly too often this season, and it ain't like the Jets are gonna just roll over and play dead.--->JMS

I think the Steelers take the Jets, and I'll predict by a bigger margin than their regular season match. The Steelers were banged up for the earlier game, Plaxico was out and Ben had his worst game of the season. The Black and Gold are healthier now, Plax is back, plus they've had two weeks to rest and prepare. The Jets are more banged up now; one of their key defensive weapons, John Abraham, isn't expected to play. The Jets will keep it interesting in the first half, but I predict the Steelers wear them down in the second half and win more convincingly over them this time.

Provided the Steelers don't get too banged up this weekend, I think they can take either New England or Indianapolis. If it's Indy, I expect the Steeler defense to pressure Manning and cover his targets, and try to make him throw interceptions. I've heard a few analysts say that Indianapolis might be hard-pressed to deal with the Steelers' aggressive brand of defense, and that Peyton can be forced into mistakes. I predict with Ty Law out, the Colts will get it done against New England. Peyton Manning has the hot hand right now, plus he and the Colts have something to prove.

Manning can't do anything if he's sitting on the bench watching an 8 minute Steeler drive. That's how you stop Manning and that's what the Steelers do better than everybody else.

That was my point as well JP. True the Jets had the Steelers on the ropes the first time but the game meant nothing to the Steelers and everything to the Jets. The Steelers were down at that time too. Alot of guys were hurt and they just were in a down week as far as how they played. Phil Simms had an interesting article on nfl.com where he said something similar and basically said the Jets really have their hands full, more so than last time.

I have all hopes that that the steelers do pull it off this year. I been waiting for this since O'Donnell threw their last superbowl. I know they "could" beat Indy. But if they play as ugly as the have been they might have a hard time doing it, if they do win it will be by a Field goal.

It should be a good game with the jets - I can't wait to see it :)

i think pittsburgh will handle the jets by @ 24-10. the jets have to be physically tired, banged up and emotionally drained after last weeks overtime win in s.d. ny is a good team, a lot like the steelers just not quite as good and herman edwards is a good coach but they won't be able to get it done today.
as far as the colts or pats, i don't think it matters, n.e. is missing both starting corners (law & ty poole) and they just don't seem to be that "special" team they have been for the past few years. Indy's D isn't too hot, yeah they played good last week but wouldn't any defense play good when your O puts up 21 points before they even break a sweat?? which in turn forced denver's O out of thier game and out of the playoffs. pittsburgh also has the #1 ranked pass defense and the #4 run defense in the NFL. manning is awsome and that offense is fun to watch but with our pass rush & those complex blitzes, peyton will be in for a long day...or maybe a short day, as mentioned before, our ball control vs thier defense will give us time of possession advantage.
well that's my take. GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and hello to all those i haven't talked to in a while.

Steelers 20, Jets 17 in overtime.

That game almost made me blow my supper. I was literally getting sick when Ben threw the interception and the Jets had the second chance to end our season in the 4th quarter.

*****JP heaves HUGE sigh of relief*****

Hopefully Ben shakes the butterflies for the AFC Championship game next week, because we won't be as lucky if he makes mistakes like that against either the Colts or Patriots.

Partially I don't think it was butterflies. The Jets have one of the best D's in the NFL and play the Steelers better than anyone, by far. While he didn't have a good game, it was comparable to the last time they played the Jets and I believe he'll play better next week against an opponent who doesn't give the Steelers O so many fits.

BTW, the Jets only had 3 points from their offense. Take out the turnovers and we win 24-10. But, like anything, they happened and can't next week or we'll be watching another Super Bowl w/out the Steelers.

Unlike college football, in the NFL style points do not count, and a win is a win, so the Black and Gold will take it.

Often when a team has a championship season, there's at least one game along the way that they pull out of their ass that they deserved to lose. Methinks and hopes that this second game against the Jets was the one, and they've gotten it out of their systems.

Yeah, I was hoping they would have had this game sooner. Every year there is that one game that you should lose but you win which seems to propel you to a championship by winning it. Hopefully that was all that was.

Most likely too the Steelers will be the underdog next week, which should fire them up a little more.

On a side notI wonder where Doug Brien will be working next year? He was 1 out of 4 this year in the play offs when it counted (he missed one out of two last week).

Watching that game last night was like watching the last 5 laps of the Daytona 500. You didn't have any fingernails left, I was about ready to herl over the playing. I can not believe for the life of me how bad they played. Sure they held off three points from their offense. But that doesn't excuse the fact that they should have lost.

They got lucky when those two field gaols were missed. I guarantee that if they play like that next week they Will without a doubt lose BIG TIME. It will be pitiful what they lose by, I am predicting if the they played last night continues next week they will lose 40 - 0.

The Pats and Colts are not a run of the mill team. They are both very good. And I never thought I would see the day the Pats would be in the position they are in. They are of course my second favorite team, but I am rooting for the steelers all the way this. They better get their acts together or they will not be in the superbowl ..

Yep, that was one of those where you are yelling at the TV every 2 minutes.

I had a real problem with Pittsburgh's play calling. They have a possession style offense and it seemed like every set of downs, they called a low-efficiency, high-risk play at the wrong time that killed the drive. Too many deep passes on 1st down or 3rd & short resulted in interceptions and punts. At the same time, I don't recall any deep play-action passes on 2nd and short, which is kinda like a free play. Sure they have a quick strike threat, but if they don't have a ball control offense next week, it'll be all over.

Yeah, if they don't play better next week they are done. I still think the Jets just have the Steelers number though. I believe they will play better. May/may not win, I'm not confident enough to say. But it won't be 40-0, I know that

Looks like we get to play New England next week. I am happy to see that, we beat them once we can do it again. I hope it is the same as it was last time. But like stated before: They play like they did yesterday they will have a huge L on their chests for Loser ... With all sarcasm aside and such; this year has been the best year they had reguardless of how they played. They beat numerous records and made new ones. Here's hoping it continues ...

Word, this season has been a helluva ride. One I'm glad I got to witness. As for this weekend, Bill Belicheck is a phenomenal football mind, I'm sure he's got what we did last time more than covered. I'm seriously worried about this game. More so than any other.
