SavageHeart wrote:Here's a another good one from the Bible, "judge not, lest ye be judged".

I wasn't going to, but I can't take it.....

YR, do you even know what this means? Or is it just okay that you "judge" everyone but no one judges you?

Moral elitism makes me laugh. I'm sure everybody that's posted on this thread has never done anything stupid. Drinking and driving isn't cool, but neither is pretending to be morally elite.

Obviously I have done stupid things....I don't think anyone was being a moral elitist, I think people were commenting on some really stupid (IMO) statements.

It's a useless pursuit. Conspiracy theorists have their own version of reality and that's that.

Yes, BDRob, useless. But it is SOOOOO hard.

And I think that I may have figured it out!!!! YR IS NS. She obviously loves to be "persecuted" (to use Bible-banger Robs (BBRob) word! ) Maybe YR created the drama to prove to us that people treat her unfairly. Just a thought!!! Or maybe NS was a "PIG" who had nothing better to do than to attack YR. I wonder if he filled his harrassment quota? Hmmm, now that I think of it, the possibilities ar endless.

SavageHeart (By the way, GOOD name for you!), believe me, I know exactly what "judge not, lest ye be judged" means, and also what bassist_25 wrote. I've been the one being judged, so to speak, for my views. I am NOT a moral elitist by ANY stretch of the imagination, nor am I a conspiracy theorist. I did accept responsibility for and admit my actions, told the truth, and expected that it would matter, "under the law". It didn't, at least not when it came to my sentencing hearing.

On the night of the incident, I went there seeking assistance, not with any criminal intent. I'd been there earlier in the day, for crying out loud! Of course, I wasn't alone, then. Criminal Mischief and Defiant Trespass are what a jury found me guilty of, and set restitution starting at a low of at $1,000. Having no priors and with a year passing and my getting in no more trouble, YES, I do believe the sentence I received was way too harsh, and was only due to the insistance of the "victim".
I also believe that the "victim" should allow the truth to be known about the actual previous condition and therefore actual worth of the "classic car". Talk about being "responsible", sheesh! The former co-worker who helped him paint it knew all about his TRYING to get a front end alignment on it before they did so. I'd say the "victim"'s continued withholding of that information makes him a worse criminal than I ever was. I got a chill when I saw the extent of the damage to that car, and thanked God that all of the times all of the kids were in the backseat, it had never been rear-ended...they surely would have been severely injured, or worse. If the ding causing only a dent in a plastic Windstar bumper caused that much damage to a "classic car", what Centre Repair said back in 2001 was true, the frame was bent THEN. He said it needed $4 to $5,000 to properly fix the frame alone, and in his estimation, it wasn't road worthy. He said he wouldn't touch it, refused to Inspect it and told us to come and pick it up. (To make it road worthy, fix the rusted floor panels, ETC., Centre Repair said that would take upwards of $10,000!) It doesn't seem possible I could have caused much damage and simply drove away. I believe the Jury also thought as much, that's why they set the minimum Restitution so low. When they see the pictures of the dent in my former van's bumper, it's evident to anyone who sees them, that my ding might have bent a "classic car", but it wasn't the reason why, prior damage was. ...but don't worry, I'll continue to responsibly make my monthly Restitution payments. :D

I apologize if my not being pleased about my and others' experiences with "wonderful police officers" and "the system" offends anyone.
I can understand others' points of view on "wonderful police officers", but I don't share them.

Just to answer your question, you were judging all police officers by your experience with one.

And Savage Heart is one of my FAVORITE songs by the Pretty Maids....just in case you were wondering. But hey, I'll take it as a compliment.

You're welcome for the compliment, :) and no, it's waaay more than one "wonderful police officer", whose actions or in-actions have let me down. There have been a few good ones, I repeat, "a few", but the majority I've dealt with weren't. Over a lifetime, the few good ones haven't made up for all of the bad, but like I said, I believe Bag's good Karma is a start.

I don't think many feel warm toward any "wonderful PLCE officers", either. BadDazeRob said the local ones have "only" been doing their job enforcing a law that needs to be changed. Riiiight, especially when they've acted many times without a complaint ever being lodged against an establishment.

Pentacle? or do you mean Pinnacle?

That would make a great sucky name for a generic metal band:

Pentacle of Badassness

Edit:

I'm sorry, the pose works (although those poses are much more suggestive with a sexy Flying-V guitar), but the smile, baby-face and bass-ackwards cap just doesn't invoke visions of badassness.

I think he meant tentacle

When it comes to suggestiveness (which is what was mentioned) the Flying V is in a class by itself!

The laws are written in such a way that empowers those agents who are on power trips to do the things they do, i.e. Castle Pub, Marty's Pub, etc. Changing the vague laws takes power away from those who abuse it.

I took what you said regarding "wonderful PLCE officers" only doing their jobs at face value. You'd mentioned nothing of their "power trip" or them doing anything wrong, simply that they were doing their job and the law needed to be changed. I called you on it and you've now explained further. ...or should I say you've now added context? :D

As to your second paragraph, I say "back atcha sweetcheeks".

Okay, new rule - Anytime there's a pic of Johnny Stevens in a badass rockstar pose, the thread discussion is officially over.

OK, OK, we get it ... poor YankeeRose has been beaten down and persecuted her entire life and now the whole world's against her. No trouble she’s faced has ever been caused by her own poor judgement ... it’s all “prior damage” ... someone else’s fault.

Now, the evil police forces of the world are conspiring against her, too — uh-oh, look out the window, I think there's a "milk truck" parked out front of your house, complete with speciallized listening equipment so they can trump up some new charges and wrongly accuse you of something else ... and the story continues on and on and on ... Boo-f@#kin'-hoo.

Do you get a monthly check from DPW, because you have the perfect attitude for it.

(I think I hear fire whistles ...)

 I have no idea WTF did I to you personally to evoke your spewing such a vicious tirade, "Saint". I find it all very amusing. :D You want to talk about "attitude"?! Yours towards me stinks, hands down.

By the way, no, I don't receive a check from the DPW...nor do I receive Food Stamps...but so what if I did? :) Remember, "judge not, lest ye be judged". I'm a very forgiving person, I've "let a lot of things go", as it's said, (...and some very wonderful people helped me do.) but I apologize, for I haven't quite figured how to wipe my memory clean.

I seriously doubt that the PLCB officers are just popping in to enforce a noise ordinance on a whim. There has to be some prick, be it a neighbor, some old geezer that doesn't like that" devil music you youngins' listen to", or some jealous asshole that just can't take that your bar is doing better than his. What I do know is that the law for noise ordinance is bullshit. If I am speeding down the road doing 70 in a 40 I know that I am speeding, and subject to a fine if caught. But what is screwed up about the noise ordinance is the PLCB can give a legitimate dB level at which is acceptable to the public, to which establishment owners can make modification to their buildings to compensate for this "noise" or to simply ask us to turn it down to a specified level. No offense to the people of Johnstown or mototcycle enthusiasts, because I like to ride too, but why is it that during Thunder in the Valley the noise ordinance seems to go away. Because it generates money for the community!!!!! So now all of the geezers that are down town selling their friggin' hot sausage sandwiches at $7 a pop don't feel to bad now, do they!!! Or the not so popular bars are getting the overflow from the "groovy" bars with the ass kickin' bands. ( Hey Rob, I like to use that word too :D ). I live in Altoona within a few hundred yards of the railroad. When those fuckers couple up at 2am it is enough to make you piss to bed. Why does the ordinance not apply? $$$$$$$$$. So lets all focus our energy on getting this changed, stop blaming the messengers, and take the fight to the origin of the ordinance. On a happier note ya gotta love that pic. of John trying hard to look like Bon Jovi . :D
