Dawn of the Dead

two thumbs up!

The movie is cool, especially if you like gore infested close ups of zombies getting their heads blown off, or people being cut in half.....

Aren't the zombies pretty fast in this one? Did you notice if Savini did any effects? Van Helsing looks like another good one.

van helsing looks great
i thought about the zombies being too fast...here is my conclusion...they are zombies so all they have left is a desire to eat...we only use like 1/4 of our brain, so imagine what you can do without any limitations of using it? perhaps you can move like that for food.....

Got to see it today, and it was definitely a quality horror flick. I was expecting a lame Hollywood-cash-in remake, but there were a lot of clever touches throughout. The music selection is brilliant. They even managed to do a creepy "zombie baby" sequence without being campy or cheesy.

It's not an all-time classic or anything - check out the super-ambitious original if you want that (it's worth a rental just to hear the characters bust on Johnstown). But let's see more from the guy who directed this new version. He's got potential.

I finally saw it this past weekend, it kicked ass. It's about time they come out with a good "new" zombie movie. It smokes 28 days later if you were turned off by that one. I can't wait till the remake of Day of the Dead. I'll tell you though, there is nothing like the originals, but by todays standards, the movie kicks ass!!!

OH YEA, my favorite part is when that idiot saws the chick in the bus!

That did kick ass. I also like the sniping part. "Tell him Burt Reynolds."

No Savini didn't do any effects but he has a hilarious cameo in it. The movie kicked major ass. If you haven't seen it yet do so soon.
