Shooting at City Limits

The bullshit continues! No knock against the DJs (it's not their faults),
but it does seem that these types of incidents have been occuring at these
shows vs. band gigs. This is just an observation. I can say however, that
the past several times I've passed City Limits on a Friday night (DJ night),
the police have been sitting outside apparently waiting for something to occur. The police are aware of the problem! Maybe this is just a coincidence, or maybe it has more to do with the type of crowd/clientele being drawn on these particular nights? Either way, it is becoming a sad state of affairs when you can't go out and enjoy yourself without some stupid ass trying to kill or injure somebody. You can hire all the police you want, but the problem won't be solved until you get rid of the assholes bringing the problems here. If you know someone with a drug/alcohol problem, try to get them some help. Getting rid of this kind of scurge is
definitely going to be an uphill battle. Unfortunately, innocent folks end up on the short stick of these occurences far too often. Be safe and watch your back folks!

I think you're right. Peggy's Place (between Huntingdon and Mt. Union) used to be packed to the rafters when they had DJ's playing hip hop. Then guns were being shown in the parking lots, people getting stabbed, etc... To Peggy's credit, they cleaned the place up, got rid of the trouble makers, and even made the place bigger. BUT... What did they get for that?
Nobody goes there anymore. I was delivering PA Musicians Friday night, went by there at 10:00, and they were CLOSED! The only big crowds they get now, are for comedy nights.

When the Cedar Grove was still around they used to have DJ's and stopped for the same reason. Too many Gangsta Wannabe cowboys.
As far as half dead half in jail goes, I think it would be more like 5% dead (who's gonna do some stupid shit when they know everyone is Packin?), another 5% in prison (where they should be executed ASAP) and everybody else free to enjoy themselves.

I wish this town had funding for about a thousand police officers. That'll never happen of course, but can't somebody please train the few that we have to keep an eye out? We're still under that "Oh My God this is happening in my own back yard!!" mentality. Well, the fucking druggies from all over have discovered us and found us to be a pittifully easy mark. Fuck them. I just feel badly for the folks that think they need what these assholes are selling.

The ones in altoona are trained to keep an eye out for this shit, but unfortunatly they cant do a damn thing til the shots are fired. Plus, they are too busy with all the other shootings, murders, domestic violence calls, and drug wars to be able to keep an eye on each individual in the town. even if there were 1000 officers in altoona, there are 50,000 people, not to mention 10,000 in the logan township jurisdiction. SO, i guess what im saying is that the police force does the best they can with the staffing they have, and cannot prevent this shit before it happens because the city is just too big, and too full of criminals. Want to make a difference, set up a community watch program in your neighborhood, keep an eye out for suspicious activity. If you rely on other people to do it for you then it will just keep on happening, take charge of the situation and make a difference yourself, and stop waiting for others to find the loaded gun.

And another thing, i do not feel bad for the people who feel they "need to buy this shit from these assholes". They made their own decisions and now they have to deal with the consequences. Maybe one of these days a really rotten shipment of H will come into this town and absolutly exterminate every fuckin druggie on the street. Thats my viewpoint, and if you think its wrong, oh well.

the problem doesn't lie in the music (if you can call it that) that DJ's play. freedom of expression is fine in lyrical content IMHO. the problem is the people that are infesting our area. here's a revolutionary idea...give methadone to the junkie assholes in their own cities. hopefully this kind of thing dies down...no matter what kind of music you're into...nobody wants to go out and be constantly worried about stepping on someones foot and getting a cap popped in your ass.

Most fans of rock/metal settle scores the old way, and just beat the hell
out of each other. Same goes for country music. Also, back in the 80's
people had enough metal/chains/spikes, etc. on their person to do some damage. I'm not a (hip hop) fan, but they do seem to have a different mentality when it comes to settling disagreements/problems. I don't subscribe to that. I know certain folks may agree or disagree with the DJ
aspect of the music, but hey metal bands have been blamed for people
killing other people too. It's the f*&$'in idiot with the gun/knife who is to blame for his own actions. I can listen to anything (type of music) for awhile, but it doesn't make me want to go out and shoot somebody.
I've also heard that some doctors state that a form of "chemical"warfare would rid our streets of drugs i.e. put a shitload of bad drugs on the street and wipe them out/kill them all. Makes you wonder? There is no easy solution. I don't get the mentality of a heroin user when the outcome of its use is never a good one (you usually end up dead). I feel that anyone who sells heroin or the like is plain and simple equal to a murderer/rapist,
and should be treated accordingly. My thought.... take them out and hang them from the nearest tree. This problem escalating in our area really
pisses me off and as I said before, it's the innocents who end up suffering.

ive seen alot of cops around here. esp in the area i live. they are either skinny young dudes, or fat old men. both of which shouldnt be cops!! back in frederick, the cops were big dudes that would beat your ass in 2 seconds if you got out of line. trust me, i know. the cops ive seen here are jokes. they cant defend anything. my Gf's friend's husband is a cop...he is a little guy...looks almost exactly like the guy that banged stifler's mom in american pie. imagine that guy trying to arrest someone who doesnt wanna be. the cops ive seen here seem to be more of a liability than those who can protect and serve.

I know several cops, many of which I would never want to get in a fight with, for any reason, because they would fucking eviscerate me.

Busy waiting for speeding motorists or trying to catch those wily potsmokers. Fuck the police, I see them sitting in their cruisers all over town doing jack-shit besides pulling up beside another cruiser to BS.
We need some undercover cops who have the balls to infiltrate a little deeper than "street level crackhead" but they won't because there is a risk involved. I thought that was in the job description. My case in point.
I owned an ATV for one fucking day. The dude i bought it from put it on my front porch and I was busy so I let it on my almost totally enclosed front porch for the night. I awoke the next morning to take it to my buddies garage to give it a tune up and everything but guess what, yep STOLEN!!! I was fucking irate. My wife said "I'll call the police" I said go ahead but, they won't do jack shit. I went out and threatened every junkie I'd ever crossed paths with. I even told them there was a reward.
Sure as shit 4 hours later the cops took a report (over the phone, they were too busy) and I got a phone call from some junkie asking how much the reward was. I asked where it was, he took me to my Atv and there were some kids there who I told straight out if I see them even remotely close to my house again I will drag them inside at gunpoint and fucking gutshoot them. Then I had the junkie who snitched them out haul my 4wheeler to my friends garage. When he asked for the reward I told him I
was kidding about the reward and was not about to support his drug habit.
We called the cops two days later and they were still "working on the case" the police are a fucking joke.

Ok, i can't leave it at that. First of all, the Altoona Police Department is understaffed, i wont say anything about that, they could use a lot more staffing. But to say that these guys dont already lay their lives on the line as is is fucking BULLSHIT! I've met a lot of the local police force, and I'll tell ya what, they do a hell of a lot more than what you give them credit for.

You want to say about them busting pot smokers? Last time i checked pot was illegal, just as illegal as any narcotic. Money from Marijuana goes to the same place that heroine money goes to, so why not cut it off at the
source?

Next, they wont go undercover because that is the job of the Drug Task Force, want someone to bitch at, go to them, they are the ones that are limited to this area, and they are the ones who should be doing this job, not the Altoona Police Department.
