Where is the Security?
Is it just me or do the bands need too start bringing there own security too the bars too keep the crowd in line? It seems as though the bars could careless when a fight breaks out anymore. For example the last several bands I have went too see at the County Line Inn there has been a major fight either before, during, or after the bands have played ....
Its not just the County Line either... I have traveled all around seeing different bands play over the last 6 months and this seems too be the way it is pretty much everywhere I have went. I don't know about everyone else but when this happens it kind of ruins the whole night for me.

Re: Where is the Security?
You were in Mount Union.. I've seen fights break out there between a 6-month-old child and a 35 year old crack fiend.. you can't do a damn thing in Mount Union without wondering if your life is on the line..metal_junky wrote:Is it just me or do the bands need too start bringing there own security too the bars too keep the crowd in line? with that said.. I thought it would be common sense on the bar or band's part .. to have somebody w/ security there.. alcohol + common central pennsylvanian = bar fight.. i dont think it should be on the bands.. but you know if the bar's hiring them.. you're making less money and paying more to get in..

It's not just the County Line either. Over the last six months, I have traveled all around seeing different bands play, and this seems to be the way it is pretty much everywhere that I have went. I don't know about everyone else, but when this happens, it kind of ruins the whole night for me.
I agree that the altercations that take place during live music events help to cast a negative shadow on the local scene. Oh and by the way, you're welcome.
If plain and proper English is what you seek, I am the purveyor of such. You're welcome.

These dudes got into it at a gig in St. Marys when we were playing "Were not gonna take it". There was something about seeing guys fighting to that song that was awe inspiring.

Kevin, I appreciate your duty to grammatical correctness, but unfortunatley, the putrid syntax of ebonics is an abomination to this beautiful language known as English. I think that this Gangster of Ebonics fellow is doing a disservice to his urban peers by perpetuating this pseudo-language, a language which is not helped by the cultural wasteland of MTV.ToonaRockGuy wrote: As my esteemed colleague, Captain Grammer would say, You're Welcome, homie.

Wow, I was just reading down through this thread and man did this get hijacked quickly or what?
Metal_Junky, just a couple quick questions...
What type of shows (bands) were you attending when fights broke out?
Was there an general age of participants in the fights?
How late in the evening did things usually occur?
I'm just curious. I haven't witnessed all that many altercations in the last 4 or 5 years and was just wondering if there were any common factors. I'm not saying that the genre has anything to do with what type of crowd the bar gets, but who knows, maybe that is a common factor (I first thought of that when I saw your login name).
Just curious.

Forgive me Captain for such pettiness, but I could not resist pointing out that even a master of the language such as yourself is prone to error. By the way, you are welcome.
