Post by f.sciarrillo »

I am thinking about going this year. It looks like it will be pretty good. Anyone else ??? The thing with living so close is tha you won'thave to waste any money on a motel, or camp out ...

Fest Information: http://www.creationfest.com/ne/
Ticket Information: http://www.itickets.com/agape/

There is a huge list of performers going to be there. Including Stryper ..

my parents house is like.. a 3 minute drive from the agape farm, i grew up listening to those religious fanatics every year ..

i think this year im gonna settle with passing on creation - maybe ill attend a beheading in palestine now that Hamas is calling the shots officially.. (thats like the scariest thing EVER)

EDIT: It was always fun tho to go watch the nite the Newsboys played - to see their entrance. One year they rode in on choppers, the next year they came down from helicopter.. their entrance was always a great part of their show - and their live show was pretty good as well!

I might be interested in checking it out, at least on the Friday when Stryper is playing. I missed my opportunity to see them in concert in the 80's (the car I was riding in broke down en route to Pittsburgh to see them at the Syria Mosque). Plus after hearing about it all these years, I'm curious to see what it's all about.

Wow! Stryper!...cool...might have to make it over this year...I use to sneak in and camp the first few years they had it, just for the party even tho I live like 5 mins away....2 hours if I wait till they are coming in!...its a line of traffic past my place for like 2 days...Sunday when its over it starts around midnight Saturday and goes bumper to bumper till like 3pm Sunday....Wed. before is the day to stock up on milk,T-paper and bread cause none to be found the next few days...Beer too!...cause they have record sales that weekend..(it's not all church-like!)...I remember the 1st couple years it was like a Jesus-Woodstock!...they asked people to give up drugs and throw them in a barrel and they filled like 3 of them!....but still were some sweet smoke smells thru the night!....It's like tent city when it moves in for our small town!....something to see if ya never been there...

haha how about it - 522 is virtually SHUT DOWN for 2 days before and 2 days after the festival.. even the turnpike, getting off the turnpike at Fort Littleton during Creation - you have to merge into the right lane to make your exit back in fuckin Lancaster.. its amazing

and the drugs?!?! wow - one year a guy got so hopped up on acid and pcp he went around claiming to be the anti-christ - these parties they have there, you would never think jesus was in attendence.. tattoo stands on the grounds, heroin, marijuana, it's a stoners delight, and an athiests nightmare

and used condoms chucked thru-out the woods!...watch your step!...dont swim in the Aughwick down stream that week either!...I can't believe what some people travel in to get there....I wouldn't make it to Mt. Union let alone California in what some drive...My neighbor and I use to park my monster truck in his front yard, fire up a fatty on his porch and watch the people point and yell/wave....(life in a small town)...it's a break from watchin the bug zapper!

I will definitely be there on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Nothing about Saturday's lineup is very attractive to me. I am excited to see that Kutless, Thousand Foot Krutch and Jeremy Camp all got evening time slots this year.

I don't have the slightest idea what these guys are talking about in the above posts. I have been there the past 2 years and I haven't seen or even heard of anything like this happening. It's a very family and youth friendly environment. I consider myself to be very aware of my surroundings, so I can't imagine this being the case...not lately anyway.

Some of you are making it out to be like woodstock or something. I have a hard time thinking that the stuff you mention can be at a religious convention ..

experience it for yourself..

you'll be suprised..

and rreihart.. you're obviously not looking at it all.. that place is fucking loaded with drugs and alcohol.. creation festival is reason enough for me to NOT be religious because it screams hypocracy in christianity.. it's sickening.. ive experienced it for 20 years, my parents and aunt were EMTs at the Agape Farm for the first 10 years of Creation and they have more drug overdoses during creation than the entire year combined.. it's a disaster

sorry

Post by tornandfrayed »

Sorry, I know it's not true. Nice try! How old are you atom? I have been to Creation, there are no drugs. There is no Alcohol. You can scream what you want . I make the challenge openly to anyone to come and check it out. I take my wife and children there and it is a great environement. A lot of the people that attend are Youth Groups and the Youth Leader is there in attendence. I have walked through the enitre thing at 2:00 am and never saw anything that I would not want my kids to see.

You can say what you want but the challenge still stands. Go and make the call for yourself.

And I will be there this year with some of our friends.

This is a great environment for getting in touch with yourself and the people around you. The music has been awesome in the past!

Go for a day or go for three doesn't matter, you won't find any drugs, alcohol and most of the kids there are very respectful.

Peace!

Like A faithful creation-goer is going to admit their beloved woodstock isn't a woodstock.. no offense, but you're fucking full of it.. Ask Trucula, he lives down there too, Im sure BadDaZeRob could tell you something, Im sure the paper has an article or three about it thru the years.. I understand you want to create a good environment for your family and children to worship an invisible man and be safe doing so, but to turn a blind eye to the obvious is not only stupid, but dangerous..

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I USED TO LIVE THERE!!! We sold fire wood to everybody, we sold ice water.. man you're in a sea of 90,000 people.. I promise you, the 300 you see on a daily basis out there may be good intentioned.. but drugs are very easily attainable..

Im 20 years old - I have been to creation by default every year with exception to last. Like I said before, my parents were EMTs for Orbisonia-Rockhill Fire company and sat at the Agape farm and watched these retards overdose every year. Why do you think they have to put fencing up at the side of the mountains? Its because these retards back in the late 1980s would get so fried they'd fall off the fucking mountain.

So Im sorry if im not going to jump on the "Creation is truely a christian experience" bandwagon - they can shove it up their asses for all I care. Aside from good music, that is a waste of land, PA system, and money. You know the strain it puts on Orbisonia for 1 week? You can't go the fuck outside without being elbow and asshole with these people. No me, I love that aspect - I love the masses.. but when I cant put gas in my car, because Jesus freaks require the fucking Iraqi oil supply.. it kind of pisses you off.

I find that to be extremely offensive... and I think you had better rethink your blatant attack methods, because Dave is one of the most supportive ppl in this area for local music... NOT COOL

Im not trying to be offensive, I apologize if it's taken that way.. and this has NOTHING to do with music.. but i do apologize if it seems offensive

I prolly live the closest to the Agape than anyone on here and I've been there many times. I can tell ya one thing if anyone thinks for one minute that there aren't drugs or booze you're crazy  . I agree with Atomik about alot of what he said for the record but, I will also say that not everybody there engages in such activity. Waste of land , yes very much so . They shouldn't have it there at all as far as I'm concerned. The amount of strain it puts on this little area is overwelming. I can almost bet the gas will go up for that week. Sure there are good down to earth people who go to this event but, there are also alot of dickheads who go for the party. One of my best friends was there last year and ended up with a broken jaw, more or less cause some asshole didn't feel that he should have been there. Noise , oh yeah the noise, it's alright for the Jesus freaks to blast shit out of their huge p.a. all night because of all of the churches around here support them. What I find offensive is that every person within two miles of there has to listen to all that religious crap being cranked up to max levels for a week not just one day. It really pisses me off that when I drive down the road when the Creation Fest is going on I see abunch of worthless hippies bathing in the creek, yes bathing with soap and water. I know some landowners who have to post their ground during this event because alot of these people think they can do and go where they want and the thing I hate most is the litter and it's never around the Agape Farm it's strung all along the roads leading out of there.
Like I said not everybody does these things but, you take 1/10 of
100, 000 plus people and shit can get out of hand real quick. The main problem with the whole thing is there is not enough law enforcement there.

These are just my opinions and that alone so no one should get their panties in a wad about it o.k.!

I for the most part stay away from the Agape that time of year but, some how can't resist drive'n over there with the Slayer cranked all the way up at least once before they all go home. Man you should see the looks you get for that.

I stand

Post by tornandfrayed »

I stand by my post. I invite anyone of you to go there at anytime and see for yourself. I don't even really care that much.

The reality is go there for a day and make the call for your self. As for selling firewood, I do see a lot of people outside the festival selling firewood for very high prices.

I won't bother defending myself or my belief, I don't need to. Go for yourself and make the call.

Also I have to point out that even though I have walked trough there many times and never seen this what the Fuck does doing drugs or drinking have to do with it? Who gives a shit if someone wants to smoke pot or drink? Are you against those things? Do you not go to events were people are drinking and getting high? As a Christian I would never be so presumptuous to try to tell others what they should or should not do.

I have been there three years in a row and have never seen anything of that nature. I don't really care enough to argue so again I will repeat:

Go for yourself and make the call. I won't address atom personally because I have read through his posts. Whatever you believe is what the truth is to you. If I belive something else that is the truth. Each persons truths are theirown. There are some here that believe completely different things in political, religious and musical areas yet I choose to believe that we only need one thing in common to build a relationship and become friends. Upon that we can build and in friendship understand each other better and become more leniant of each other's point of views. That is my truth.

And to the original post I will be there with my family and a lot of my friends will be there. It will be a great experience and everyone who goes comes out feeling really good and recharged. The music is awesome and for Christians the Worship experience is beyond compare.

I did not care for the comment

I understand you want to create a good environment for your family and children to worship an invisible man

its extremely off color and downright insulting to god fearing men. The way that paragraph started out, the tone was unforgiving. Good music is good music, and I thought that was the original intent of the topic.

This was not a topic to start a war. All I wanted to know was who was going. The fact that it turned into a topic of disgust is not cool ... That comment offended me also killjingle. But, it is nothing more than an opinion, we all know everyone has one.

no i did learn something from there.. and like in there i stated here.. I DID NOT INTEND TO BE OFF COLOR, OR RUDE IN ANY ONE WAY..

Now you can take it any way you want, I dont fucking care - not to be rude or off color again - but you will not take my voice and distort it to suit your own needs or beliefs.

I apologized to everyone once, i wont do it again. I dont feel I need to - I apologize, so get the fuck off my ass about it.
