Steelers
Crappy game, defense saved our asses, but also concerned me on all of those freakin third down conversions from GB. Some good plays and turnovers helped....hey either way, a win is a win! GB is always a threat with Favre in there at QB even though they are 1-7 now...his recievers blow. Anyways, GO STEELERS!

Charlie did his job as the backup quarterback — he didn't LOSE the game. Otherwise, helmets were cracking and they got the job done.
I'm impressed that we can win on these weeks where we have key skill players sitting on the bench. Be happy, Steelers fans, we're 6-2 and our injured are getting proper, proactive medical attention, still relatively early in the season. We should have a pretty healthy team come play-off time.

Yes it was sloppy, but we did win. I was thinking that we would lose for sure. And Batch did a lot better job than Maddox. So that is a plus .. But isn't that the case where they always play ugly. But we still manage to win. I am very optimistic that we can make it this year. No matter how bad they play ..
So GO STEELERS !!!!

Told ya, Batch is a good kid. But I for one will be glad to have Ben back under center Let's look into the future shal we......
League parity is quickly becoming a reality but here's my thoughts on the rest of the season
Cleveland Next week - with Ben back and Deuce running decently the Steelers are formidable enough but If Parker or Bettis can be available on Game night...look out Cleveland that's a Win
Baltimore....first We beat these guys already, second the Ravens still barely have an offense Win
Indy...let's face it Steeler Fans, Manning and Co are trouble assuming no disasterous Indy Injuries it don't look good for the Steelers the way the Colts have been playing. . Loss, sorry
Cincy....Who do these guys think they are? got to hand it to em the Not- the Bungles anymore are playing good football but they're young and old age and treachery will defeat youth and skill again, it will be a hell of a game but I see a win
With the exception of the Browns who are not playing well this season the rest of the Steeler games are against NFC North opponents..My advice...at 6-2 right now Don't under estimate Da Bears but I see the Black and Gold running the table once they get past Indy
What does that mean for the playoff picture?
Well Indy has got the best shot at an undefeated season since the '85 Bears Unless the Colts start sufferring some injuries they will probably be top scede in the AFC playoffs, As to the #2 Sede Beware the Broncos, they've got a good record and are quitely racking up wins in the West The Steelers will do well to grab the #3 spot in this year's playoffs
That's how i see it

Cleveland is horrible. They lost to Houston - and barely beat Tennessee - to me that says their heads are either lodged firmly in their asses, or they're playing with High School players.. Pittsburgh wins big
Baltimore - they dont have an offense.. but they didn't last week either, and it took a last minute drive to win that one for Pittsburgh. This is going to be closer than expected, Pittsburgh wins by ANOTHER field goal
Indianapolis. Ok, nobody is going to stop Indy this season - they're defense is too good, and their offense is well.. Indianapolis. Pittsburgh runs into a buzzsaw - plays a formidable game, but still loses by 17 points
Cincinatti. I said it before and I'll say it again. Cincinatti is the second best team in the AFC. Last game against the Steelers - the steelers played like a very very hungry team. With this game, I see Cincinatti needing to send a message to the league. Bengals win by 10
Pittsburgh's 6-2 right now - I see them at 12-4 or 11-5 to end the season. 3 seed, knocked out in Divisional playoffs
I agree. The ability to get the job done and win was what it was about that day.BadDazeRob wrote:Charlie did his job as the backup quarterback — he didn't LOSE the game. Otherwise, helmets were cracking and they got the job done.

I'll grant ya that much. Batch did his job - I didnt think he would - but he looked half decent for being back-up and having to start this one.. the same couldn't be said for Kordell Stewart in Baltimore tho.. aren't ya glad you got rid of him? lolBadDazeRob wrote:Charlie did his job as the backup quarterback — he didn't LOSE the game. Man, you know it's bad in Baltimore when Kordell Stewart is playing, AND getting cheered when he comes in....
Honestly, this is my .02 on Indy, even after the Monday Night Game:
They won't win the Super Bowl this year. I doubt they will even make it. I may be wrong but, I don't think they will. They look good right now but, right now means shit in the NFL. The Steelers were 3-4 at this point a few years back and made it to the Super Bowl when others where sitting almost where Indy is now. They are too hot too early and I think they'll burn out in the end.

Here's how I see it. The Steelers play good when matched against a good team and they play lazy when against a bad team. Look for close games with crappy opponents and look for the Steelers to knock off Indy...yes I said it! They will beat Indianapolis and just wait to see how much Indy will be talked up....
As I watched the Indy/NE game today, I came to the conclusion myself that the Steelers COULD beat the colts, if they play to match the colts. I just get nervous when they play "lazy" b/c they dont' always give their all and that's becoming a trademark. It only takes one "lazy" slip-up to give the other team the win they might need. Yes, I will stand by them still....cuz I love 'em.

People really need to remember, when evaluating the Steelers' season thus far, they have not put a fully healthy team on the field yet. Skill players have been recovering from this injury, rehabing after that surgery, etc., since week one.
... but they're still winning ... with back ups — not always pretty — but winning, nonetheless. We have depth in skill positions ... Batch was a great acquisition for us. He's solid and smart. He played well Sunday, considering how intimidating it must've been for him to play for the first time in 2 1/2 years AT LAMBEAU. Remember, he had to face Favre and "The Pack" twice a year when he was the man at Detroit, and that couldn't have been fun. He probably still has nightmares and hot flashes from those days.
How many teams have a "Willie Parker," and when he goes out with a boo-boo, can put in a Duce Staley? And if he's not ready, well, Hell, I guess we'll put in future Hall-Of-Famer Jerome Bettis? No matter the scenario, the running game is pounding.
Like him or not, Randel El is a play maker, no need to mention #86, Heath Miller is a godsend, the O line is one of the best, and we're growing some new, no-name guys like Quincy Morgan who add speed and dependability to our aerial attack.
On offense, we're in a good way, for sure.
Defense? No need to say anything other than, "look the f*ck out, they're coming after you."
Point: Heading into "Part Two" of this season, we'll have rested and "healed-up" veterans who bring it. I really don't see another team in the NFL that can hang with a completely healthy Steeler team, especially not NE. The two Colts matchups will be THE games of this season, and I think you'll see a very different Payton Manning, running for his life and swallowed up by a Samoan afro. He'll complete a long ball here and there, maybe for a TD or two but when it comes to red zone D, you may as well face it, odds are you're only getting three, if that.
I could be wrong, but there's something good going on here. Time will tell.

I also agree with BadDazeRob. I
thought you were forgetting about
Polamalu, who I think is a great part of the team, until I saw "Samoan Afro". Plus, whenever I speak to her about a game, if my mother has seen it, she almost always says: "that one player with the long hair down his back, I'd like to give him a hair cut!" and not in a nice way, either. I just love it that it makes her nuts.
