Nicko McBrain Becomes a Christian ...

Post by f.sciarrillo »

I was reading this and thought it was interesting to see. They make mention of Nicko McBrain, Dave Ellefson, and Daniel Spitz in this article..

Opinions ?? I think it's pretty cool. It is a real shocker to see their names in it with the past they all had .. it makes you wonder at times. I was sitting back and scratching my head. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I think it's rather good. It's just one of those things you thought would never happen ..

I always thought that it was ironic that Slayer would get blasted by the religious right when Tom Araya is actually a devout Christian.
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

Yea, but do you remember when I posted some stuff from a Christian website that was extremely negative about even 'Christian' rock bands. And of course they would not approve of SLAYER! I think many in the religious right feel this way (neg about Christian rock), if they are even aware this music is out there. Many of them only listen to gospel and country. Ironic, yes, but not surprising at all.

I have Josh Brown's ( of Full Devil Jacket) Day of Fire album and it is pretty good stuff. It's a shame that such catastrophes as he experienced have to be the turning point in some people's lives.

I am still also waiting to see the Christian rockpagers (1 even) actually show up to one of my bands appearances. Maybe in time?

whoah, I hope their aren't many others with that opinion. No, it's red letter as in when jesus speaks in the bible, the text is in red letters.

I also thought of "The Scarlet Letter" when I first read the name.

This is what is said about Josh Brown, formerly of Full Devil jacket. Check out the names on this cd.
Now he has teamed up with guitarist Gregg Hionis in his hometown of Jackson, Tenn., and the two co-wrote the Day of Fire, his first project as a Christian. The album is produced by Scott Humphrey (Metallica, Motley Crue, Rob Zombie) and features Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction) on bass, drummer Gary Novak and guitarist Phil X, (Alanis Morissette, Avril Lavigne, Andrew W.K), along with Mat Nelson (Nelson) on back-up vocals.
This is a christian Rock cd also. Looks more cool all the time ... I'll have to look for this one to check it out ..
