It has nothing to do with energy but, it has to do with the music. Jimmy Page is sloppy and I don't really care for the singer's voice. It is NOT because of energy. It is because I am a metalhead and energy for me lies in 32nd note double kicker under a riff that makes me want to smash someone. Am I saying there is no energy in rock, blues, jazz, etc? Hell no, not even close. I like alot of those styles. I am saying that I prefer the energy associated with metal. That is MY energy.

And to expand further, I do not think that liking/disliking music is completely about energy. They might have enough energy and lasers to make Dr. Evil piss himself. Even at that, I still don't care for the music.

Go listen to Arch Enemy, Nevermore, MegaDeth, etc. and you'll find speed and excellent precision on guitar. I've seen those bands live too and they do it the same.

Zeppelin II is by FAR their best album, from top to bottom. Nothing else they did touched it as a whole. They had some other great songs, but not all on a single album.

Saw Zep in 75 or 76 (or whenever Physical Grafitti came out). Plant's voice was shot and that really ruined a lot of the concert. Plus Grafitti might be my least favorite Zep album, and they played it all, so not knowing what they were playing made it hard to be wowed.

I have heard a lot of people over the years say they saw some shitty Zep shows, and some really great ones.
