And The Winner Is???

We would like to thank everyone who bought a raffle ticket for the Ovation Guitar signed by George Thorogood.

The final results are as follows:

The winning lottery number for Saturday, October 15, 2005 Daily Number Night Drawing was 191 and we are very disappointed to say that we are still in possession of the ticket. It deeply saddens us to say that with all we did for this fundraiser, only approximately 6.4% of the tickets sold. Which only brought us $320.00 toward our $1,500.00 legal fees needed to acquire our Corporation/501c3 Non-Profit Status not counting the cost of the guitar and the printing of the tickets.

We had 1,000 tickets printed, gave packets to friends to sell, took some to Q94 where JP did a PSA for us to sell some, Thanks a million JP & Diane Boslet for your support. We took the guitar and tickets with us to different shows to sell chances.

We do have the expenses of keeping our website up to date and informative, the fundraiser that we benefited from at Peter C's helped tremendously for this expense. When this funding is exhausted, we will then be forced to either discontinue the website or put the funding out of pocket. We were hoping that with this fundraiser we could get enough funding for the above mentions 501c3 and we could then start applying for grants to make the rest of Get Closer To The Music's purposes happen. “Getting the kids of our communities involved in music and having them benefit from the extremely positive aspects of it is our goal.”

We were scheduled to participate in the Eagles Nest Music Festival in Hazen; however, the event was cancelled due to the fact that there were problems with liability insurance for the event. The same reason why the Underground TV had to cancel their event.

At this point in our adventure we are down but definitely not out by any means what so ever. We WILL continue to do what is necessary to make this organization beneficial to our communities and everyone within them. We are not sure if you really understand the benefits that music has on everyone: infants, children, teens, adults, seniors, sick or healthy. Music is extremely powerful, check this out…
