Was just wondering, are there any former users here of the old online service for the Commodore 64 computers, called "Quantum Link", a.k.a. "Q-Link"?
It came out in 1985, and the Commodore 64 portion of their service was put to rest in late 1994. It evolved from a game subscription service for the Atari 2600 game system, and eventually further evolved (or should we say "de-evolved") into what is now known as America On Line.
I was on it for a while around '92-'93. Recently, someone actually reverse-engineered the protocol, and made it active again. It can now be accessed via a C=64 emulator, or even from a real C=64/128 with the right C=64-to-PC LAN adaptor (and the original Q-Link disks). Quite a nostalgia trip!
