Does Anyone Remember Rock For The Troops?

Post by Hawk »

I can write (and have written) in detail how and why the RFTT project never got finished. And I take full responsibility for not finishing it.

Post Traumatic Stress is one of the most difficult things veterans suffer today. Too many veterans have ended their own lives. Yet they are heroes. I care deeply about them and want to do whatever it takes to help them. That's why I'm willing to take on any repercussions related to not getting RFTT completed. I ask for your forgiveness, look past it, and now help our local veterans.

I have many people to thank for their efforts in this project (RFTT) and for them and for the veterans who fought for our freedom I want to make a positive impact on their behalf.

I still hold $479.80 in cash. I have nearly 250 four disc DVD sets of the shows and messages to the troops. I donated the video camera to the Vietnam Veterans of America, Greater Blair County Chapter 967.

I never stopped thinking of ways to complete the project. And if you're interested I can give details of the work I've been doing with veterans groups.

I am not a veteran, but I have become a member of The Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Greater Blair County Chapter 967. They provide for the needs of local veterans. If a vet can't pay his mortgage for a month, they pay it for him. If a vet needs shoes, they buy shoes. If a vet needs cloths, they buy cloths. NOT just Viet Nam Veterans but for any veterans of any war. There will be a fund raising event for them coming soon. I will not touch the money. These good people will be there to meet you and collect any donations.

The DVDs that RFTT made were meant to be sent to the war zone so that the troops know we at home are thinking about them, praying for them and caring about them. Many things prevented that from happening.

I'D LIKE TO HAVE A SHOWING OF THE DVDs FOR ALL OF YOU. PLAY THEM ON A BIG SCREEN AND THROUGH A NICE P.A. SYSTEM. I will give away the 4 disc set to you and only ask that you donate something to a veterans group that supports veterans that still need YOU. The second Veterans group I hooked up with is Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA). These veterans do the same kind of thing the VVA does. They help veterans in need. I will have them at the showing and you can make a donation directly to them. PLEASE TELL ME YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE DVDs, HAVE A COPY FOR YOURSELF, AND YOU WOULD SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL VETERANS.

BOTH THE VVA AND CVMA (Lisa Fazenbaker and I met with Terry DeWitt, Commander of the CVMA, Lisa was on the ground floor of RFTT and she sifted through hundreds of hours of video to edit it down to a four disc set.) are legitimate non profit organizations. They have offices in the Altoona VA Hospital. They are Veterans helping Veterans. PLEASE HELP MAKE SOMETHING POSITIVE HAPPEN FROM RFTT.

[SIDE NOTE: I realized I used the word "I" a lot in this post. This is not about me but about the veterans who fought, and put their lives on the line for our country. I only inserted myself into the post in a effort to apologize to everyone who participated in RFTT and to make amends, move forward, and now bring PTSD awareness of local veterans to the forefront through the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.]

I'm in for anything that helps the troops. I have an event in November dedicated to helping the troops with PTS disorders.
We lose 22 per day to suicide.

It would mean a lot for me to get the DVD, especially because since then my band's singer has tragically passed away. Also, I just might be able to help with the "showing" of it as well. DM me if you'd like to hear my idea.
