Blackstar amps

Post by lynch1 »

In the market for a new amp. Tried out a 5150iii mini, 50 watts, wow!!! What an amp!!! But looking at a cost standpoint I was looking at some other options, which were the Blackstars. A fellow musician commented on an HT 20 that he used to have that was surprising loud and had great tone. Wondering if anyone in the area has a Blackstar HT 20 or HT Club 50 head that I could try out to do some comparisons or if you have ever had either of these amps what ur experience was. It would be much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure Terry at Guitars 'n Stuff in Vintondale is a Blackstar dealer. You may want to give him a call and see if he has anything to try out.

Have the HT-5H, and the HT20-H. LOVE them. A LOT! My one suggestion is to replace the tubes (Pre and Power), since the stock ones aren't all that great, and the upgrade to something better makes a big difference.

Even the emulated-outs on them (Cab sims, similar to H&K Red Box) is really good. Not sure if they still make the HT20 Head.

Have. More than enough volume. Actually, that's one of the reaasons I got it. Can push it more than a higher wattage and get that benefit, but 20 Tube watts....still pretty loud.
