Won't come up again for me, but if you go to the main website and go to the lessons section and the one marked "fingers training" you can see it. That guy is unfreaking real. Not sure what I did wrong in the post, oops.

No prob. Adding a URL can be tricky if you don't do it right. Click URL first, then add the url, then click URL again. If you hover your mouse over URL, it'll tell you how to add it. ;)

hey John, I'm sure you've seen Dino do that shit
any way the dude is good, but I would change the link from "lessons " to "me showing off", that's no lesson!

My thoughts exactly. I thought maybe I'd pick up a trick or two, but I ended up leaving the web page with my tail between my legs!

I think it is cool, if you can do something like that, but honestly...how does that fit into a band? There is 'just right' and there is 'over kill'...and what that man is doing is over kill!

This guy is REALLY good, but I have to agree with Mo and Hurricane. I've seen both Jeff and Dino do stuff like this just messing around without warming up. Another shredder that isn't slacker in that department is ole Tommy Brown.

Wow... is that considered skill or controlled noise though? He doesn't seem to have much rhyme or reason to where them fingers are going...

That guy was decent, but he had no feeling in it. He was just doing it because he can and that's lame.

Most tapping passages are actually very elementary; they sound impressive because of the speed and ability to play large interval leaps. When you analyze them, you'll find out that they are just mostly scarlar riffs and arrpegios.

BTW, did any notice that towards the end of the clip he puts his hand up towards the head of the neck and makes a rocking back motion, as if he were jacking off? I found that quite ironic.

I've always liked the Ibanez Jem models though. I remember the ones with the floral finish and clear pickguard; those kicked ass.

While I can't even begin to demonstrate 1 tenth of this guys talent, or dexterity, I have to ask the same question.... Why??

Most of you have seen this I'm sure, TJ Kelly turned me on to this a while back.... this is talent!!

That dude on acoustic in GUITARII's clip is incredible. I remember that clip a while ago on Rockpage- That was actually the thing that got me to join RP! (Thanks Robthedrummer!)

That's not just senseless shred and wanking. That's Art! WOW.

Man, that guy was alright. You'll see better guitar watching Dream Theater or Yngwie Malmsteen. He's the typical online shredder teacher wannabe.

Speaking of which, Punkinhead, have you heard Petrucci's new solo CD? I heard a sampling of it last week and was blown away.

I just ordered it from his merch site, -> here
I think that's the only place you can get it, and he's sold out a few times already. $14.98 +shipping, and the cool thing is that there's no record company cut.
