GROVE GUITARS CUSTOM '51 P BASS "THE STAIRWAY"

Post by MOONDOGGY »

I bought this and the other Grove bass I have listed because they are just amazing unique instruments made with top notch components. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to have these. But I now have other expenses that take priority. This bass was purchased NEW and I have played it very little. It still has the plastic bags over the tuners.

Here's the maker's website. Scroll about half way down on the Bass page to find this bass:

http://www.groveguitars.com/

And here's specs:

- 1-piece chambered mahogany body
- 1-piece 5A quilted maple 'waterfall' or 'stairway' grained top stained silver/gray/blue (The pics of the bass in the sunshine are accurate to the real color.)
- Warmoth 3A flamed maple '51 P neck & fretboard w/ pearl dot inlays
- 6105 Dunlop frets
- tusq nut
- Lindy Fralin standard wind '51P p/up
- chrome Hipshot A bridge
- Hipshot Ultralite tuners
- Volume/Tone controls with CTS pots
- Orange drop .056uF tone cap
- A-B 15K resistor
- Nitro lacquer clear coat
- currently strung with D'Addario Half Rounds
- weighs just under 8 lbs!!!

Price: $875. I can include a gigbag if you wish.

You always have strangest basses. 8) I never would have thought You'd go for a bass in the 51 style.

I surprised myself in wanting these! I never thought I'd spring for a vintage style passive 4 string Fender-ish bass. I just fell in love with the looks and uniqueness of both of them.
