Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the November 4 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 9 to 11 PM during Steelers football season on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).
Thanks to our band guests this week, Harrisburg-based rockers Tukurpa (http://www.reverbnation.com/tukurpa). Armed with an arsenal of zany instruments and sound effects, Tukurpa enlightened us about their career to date, the meaning of their name (a Hopi Indian word), and we heard music from them as well! Along the way, we debuted new songs by Jonathan Osman/Bloodshot, Vise Versa, Touch The Stone, The Big Time and Biscuit Jam. We also updated “Local Music News,” and dug a 1996 song by The Axis Y from the archive for this week’s “Local Music Flashback.”
Here is this week's playlist:

On our next program, we’ll take the opportunity to empty out the “Homegrown Rocker” mailboxes and check out new local and regional recordings that have arrived in recent weeks. We will debut plenty of new songs, and we will also update “Local Music News,” dig out another “Local Music Flashback” from the archive, step “Across State Lines” to hear music from an out-of-state indie band or artist, and review two CD’s in “The Professor’s CD Corner,” Jonah Whale’s Belly of the Beast and Jason O’s In My Bones! Maximum local and regional music on the “Homegrown Rocker,” next Sunday night!
