Blues Fest?

Post by kayla »

I've been wantin to organize a Blues Fest. At this point its all an idea that i'd like to put into action (with some help). Since i'm not as experienced as a lot of the other musicians on here, i would like to ask opinions/questions. I'm lookin to maybe raise some money for an organization (haven't decided which).

What are some good locations to start thinking about booking? My first thought was the Oriental Ballroom in Gallitzin.

What days of the week work best? I'm thinking a Sunday. Probably looking towards late fall (sept or oct)

Who would be interested in helping? I can't do it on my own. So any help would be awesome.

What bands would be interested in donating some time?

If there is enough interest i'm hopin to get this off the ground. any opinions, thoughts or ideas would be awesome. thanks!

I think that Blues Fest is a title that better implies the great outdoors!

Kayla, if you need any advice on possible venues, details about throwing a show or just random questions you can always give me a call 814-330-6681.

Good luck, great idea!
Keep on keepin' on,

Kayla,
Id love to help you out if you need anything. Im not in a band right now :-/
But I can help in other ways if you need, like setting things up, making phone calls, whatever ya need.

I agree, I think outdoors would be awesome. We had shows at Legion Park before, I remember we played a benefit for the skate park and it was at Legion Park. It was great.

Let me know if you need anything!

I'll supply the PA if you like. I need a break from Doing Nothing.
