Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the April 29 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).
Thanks to our guest via phone this week, Pittsburgh rock’n’roll icon Norman Nardini (www.normannardini.com)! In Local Music News…
In a surprise development, one of northeast Pennsylvania’s most prominent modern rock acts, Absolution, suddenly parted ways this past week, citing differences in musical direction. We’ll keep an eye open for any future projects that might rise from the ashes.
Bassist Jim Ricotta has parted ways with Altoona-based classic rockers Ambush. The group has announced that Jim Novak will take over bass duties.
And Harrisburg blues favorites Nate Myers & the Aces will again spotlight hot blues harp next Saturday night when they present the 8th annual Harpapalooza benefit, taking place at Harrisburg’s Appalachian Brewing Company. Hosted by Myers himself, Harpapalooza will feature performances by his own band, as well as harp players Steve Guyger, Dennis Gruenling, Dane Paul Russell and Octavia. Donation is $10, and proceeds benefit the American Diabetes Association.
